A couple of other thoughts: Pat Bauer recommends after dumping the black start the gray with the black valve open. Gray water will be forced up into the black tank then close the gray valve. Water will drain from the black tank with more stuff. Repeat until gray tank is empty or no more stuff is present. Ted Cook (Entegra) recommends draining the black and then back filling the tank 40 gallons (about 60%) Drive to next site and drain and flush again. I haven't tried either, but when we leave Sisters I think I'll do both.

I do like Pat when I have enough grey water. Noel

Never tried pushing the grey water into the black tank ... And then draining the black tank. I'm gonna try that on my next trip! Thanks!!! \ken

Actually, I do recall hearing that some coach builders have plumbed their clothes washer drains direct to the black tank.

There are some strange, (and puzzling), RV waste drain arrangements.
For example:
My bathroom sink drains into the black tank.... and the Splendide washer does not drain into either waste tank.
The washer drains directly out the 3" sewer hose connector....(and it makes a wet mess if a load of wash is done while the cap is on that sewer outlet).

My practice has been same as Pat. My macerator system had been trouble free through two coaches using method.
