Dave, I gotta point out that is one pretty coach!

Do you have the contact info for your shade guy?

Dave, I’m assuming a ladder is needed to install the screen to the coach mounted half of the snap.

Thanks Dave, are they significantly less expensive than MagneShades? I think our coach all wrapped to the side windows, etc. would have been around $1500 for MagneShades.

Medarda was worried about dropping something on the Induction Cooktop, so I made this...
Started with roughsawn hardwoods. Glued up and dowelled. Finished with lacquer.

Installing the shades is pretty straight forward, but does require arms like an NBA center or a ladder. The three front snaps on the top row require a little help, as does the top two on the driver side window, over the door, and passenger side window, or a total of 10. Remainder can be done from the ground. I have a 7' camping world aluminum ladder we use. It takes wife and me about 10 minutes to install and about 5 to remove. Removal can be done easily without long arms or ladder. Not to bad for a couple of senior citizen RV'ers!

Pat, she could probably drop a bomb on that thing and not damage the cook top! I did it the easy way, bought the maple toolbox top from Home depot and 8 clear plastic legs and we were good to go in less than 15 minutes! Works like a charm!

Matt, I don't know the answer to that one. Never seen anyone who had Magnashades or what they cost. It is a parts and pieces deal, whatever you want. Windshield only? Include driver side window, door, passenger side window, mirror covers, wiper covers, and tire covers. There maybe other things they cover. I got everything but tire covers and it was around $ 1,000 as I recall. Gordon Brown is a permanent resident at Pelican Lake Motor Coach Resort in Naples where we we and are staying now. He made and installed all of our shades on site in one morning, and I have been perfectly happy with the fit and quality of the product!

Matt,

That Magneshade price is with an image on the windshield shade ($395 adder). Plain Magneshades all around are about $1100. Magneshades are easy to put up and take down with no ladder required except for the initial installation. They seem to be well made.

Yeah, there's that, but she would not appreciate an industrial look! She keeps me hopping!

Magnashade is very well made but we had issues with ours deciding to indulge in a little independent travel during storms with winds in the right direction. Which happened more often than not. After chasing them down too many times we will opt for the snaps on the new coach. We loved the idea and the look but... and of course, your experience may differ.

Thanks for the heads up. The Magneshade is so easy to put up and take down that it makes sense to remove the front shade when high winds are predicted.

We had our Magnashades made with grommets added in the lower corners, we use small cable locks and attach those to the mirrors. Wind isn’t a problem. The couple that owns the company is very nice to deal with and very accommodating.
