Texas weather (not RV related)

We got home on Tuesday. I put on shorts to unload the RV. I wore shorts all day Wednesday. Yesterday opened with cold drizzle, turned to freezing rain. This is what we woke to this morning!

The dogs love it! Lots of bumper cars on DFW roadways, sure am glad we don't have to get out!

Pretty, but not pretty enough...I aint pushing snow willingly [read aint gonna be susceptible] unless extremely unusual and unforecast weather occurs where we are at or going. Being a weather guy in a previous life...that WILL be unusual...just saying'

This is mostly sleet and ice. I had a procedure scheduled for today and went through all the prep... drinking all the nasty stuff and the rest of it... expecting a dusting of sleet and hopefully clear roads. I must not be livin' right...

Dave - Believe me, we wish we had kept going south on Tuesday. It isn't forecast to go above freezing here until Wednesday now! Glad I thoroughly winterized the coach day before yesterday!

Shrederman - That sucks. Now you have to do it all over again! I haven't gotten more than 10' from my door all day! And it is pure sleet, I stepped on an 18" drift and didn't sink in at all!

I've got a brand new bottle of Jameson so I am fine for a few days! ;-)

Same-same out here in Midland. At least we have power this go around, the storm that hit us Thanksgiving week knocked out power for 3 days...and of course, our coach is in Dalls getting warranty work. It is supposed to be ready, we just can't get there yet!

My coach is close enough that if power goes out I can go get it. Which may not be a bad idea!

That is why I fill up close to home on my return trips. We have spent a few days in the RV because of power outages over the years.

I just walked (slipped and slid) out to the mail box. I noticed what looked like a couple 4' long bird tracks in the yard then noticed our side yard was glossy, slick ice. Being an engineer it didn't take me long to conclude my sprinkler system went off last night! (Didn't say I am a smart engineer!)

Maybe local kids will take advantage of our ice skating rink!

Upstate NY

When we arrived home after our Thanksgiving trip, we still had snow and four, four legged trespassers in the back yard.

We have a doe with twins that all flirt with our dogs through the fence. The dogs don't bark, just "woof", like letting out air, to get their attention then they all stare and posture.

We were at Coach Specialists in Mansfield having repairs done when the ice storm hit. It took the techs over 2 hours to scrape the ice off of the tops of the slides so they could bring us into the shop. Still here, think they are finally done. Heading to a Spartan Service center tomorrow to get a burst wheel bearing fixed and the recall work done.

Always good to check the slide toppers for ice and/or snow. They can really screw up your toppers if you bring the slides in without removal.
