That's Not Good.

Had to replace the mirror in the bedroom under warranty and when I removed the mirror I saw an access panel for the shower. I removed the access panel (as I do with all access panels) and this is what I found. That's not good!!

Cut it right at the kink and put a union connector and a couple of hose clamps.
Easy peasy.

I'll let Entegra (General RV) fix it when I have it in for some other warranty work this winter. I had a pretty good list going already.

Any logical reason the factory put it together with the fittings pointed up instead of down?

Point em down, those kinks are gone.

Was this causing a shortage of hot water to your shower? I would guess that it was!!

Is there some reason Iím not seeing that would prevent you from simply loosening the black nut and rotating the lines downward?

This is about a 2 minute fix, including the cleanup.

Hopefully you can send these images to the factory. Just makes no sense why this is done, and not caught in an inspection

You are assuming several things:
  • That the work is actually inspected.
  • That the inspector is competent.
Any reasonably competent assembler or inspector would have known there was a problem in the making. Plastic fitting should have been directed down prior to attaching hose. And if hose was a long length, it should have had hose supports installed so the entire weight of the hose wasn't supported by the fixture as it bounced down the highway.
