Tyron and Retroband are not the same product. Tyron has been marketed for many years.... Retroband is a completely different product which has a hard, solid "inner wheel" that is inside of your regular tires... in the event of a blow out, the Retrobands become the new tires which support the coach until you get safely to the side of the road (actually, they show a coach that then drove maybe 5 miles on the Retroband before stopping).

Two TTs by the way, I believe. Rettroband.

Last I read, $4k for less than 300 size wheels and $4500 for larger than 300. That's installed by NIRV or they will ship them to you (same price + shipping) and you can have a local tire dealer install. They claim they are very easy to install (shown in one of the videos) and any tire dealer can to it.

Try “rettrobands” with the second t in the name.

Some videos on testing etc should come up as well as one from NIRVC.

They are from Australia and supplier has been making for military applications for a while. Owner bought a class a and wanted something similar - they were born.

NIRVC has exclusive rights to sell for a period in the US then it will be open to more as I understand it.

The price for the 275’s is $3,495.00 for the pair installed. This is for Rettrobands.

I've read on here that they use someone else to do the install. I assumed that was because NIRV might not be setup for tire work and like a lot of dealers, may normally outsource that so they are doing the same with the Rettro installs.

As above.... I dont find that strange. Installing tires and dealing with the liability on the tire install is not surprising. I have been at their Lewisville lot and have often seen a tire company on their lot doing tire changes and tire replacement for them.

Are you saying that they still are the selling dealer (at one time, NIRVC was the exclusive dealer to sell them) or are you saying that this other tire dealer is also the people that will sell them to you in addition to installing them?

Just a quick note on the Rettroband video. I spoke with Brett Davis, owner of NIRVC, and he said that video is one of many tests they ran. The coach used was the most "known squirrely" coach made. They overloaded it with more than double the weight limit. When you see the shot of the driver, that is taken at the point the tire was blown. You can see his hands barely move. They also conducted many tests going around corners, all with the same result.
I'm not confident that I could always control the coach in a front tire blowout. And driving down hwy 101 from WA, I was very aware of times where a front blowout would send me over a cliff.
I'm getting my Rettrobands installed at the end of this month. Sure they are expensive but I'll "clench" less on 101.

Very wise choice for driving those types of highways. Interstates are boring.
