For many installations, you will need a drop down adapter. Pulling a Honda CR-V, I needed a 6" drop down adapter for my Anthem. It is very important that your tow bar be "flat" (horizontal) to the ground when connected to your toad. I looked for something substantial and better than I assumed you got from a mass market operation like Reese and went with a Demco Drop Down. Been using it for 2 years and it has been bulletproof. Demco makes strong stuff.
The only thing that I have done different to it over the years was that Jim LVUS101 and I and a number of others bought a square "muffler" type clamp that goes over the Receiver/drop down insert junction and the Drop Down / Tow bar junction which takes out any "play" in those junctions. The clamp is made by Roadmaster and when installed correctly and torqued to 23 foot pounds of torque, those clamps remove ALL of the play at those connections. Jim's rig was all Blue OX and my rig was all Demco, and as good as both of those systems are, there is still just a little "play" at each of those connections. The RoadMaster clamps remove all of it. They work incredibly well and stop any tendency to start to distort or "oval" the holes in those connections. Very impressed and a cheap addition.
