Tow Shield

We currently use a Guardian Tow Shield which is one more thing to prep, remove and store. Our previous coach only had wheel-wide mud flaps behind the back wheels.

Is the full flap on the back of Entegra coaches sufficient to protect our toad from road debris or should I continue to use the tow shield?

I never had an issue with rock chips or debris on our 2011 Anthem in 20,000 miles except when I tried to straddle a radiator core that someone dropped in the middle of the road. In that case the core ripped the whole mud flap off and threw it into the dinghy. $4500.00 in damage to the dinghy and $600. for a new mud flap!! The shield might of helped but probably just would of destroyed it too!

Get yourself a storage bracket and just attach it to the back of the MH when not towing....piece of cake.

Here is what I use. It is great, easy install and a snap t store in a small space.

Protect-a-Tow

I have the Guardian as well. CW threw it in as part of the deal when I took my tow package. It is a pain around the campground. And I haven't noticed that it protected anything (but how could you tell).

On the other hand, if you use the pin clips at the bottom, at least for my toad, I don't mess with the thumb screws as it isn't going anywhere. So it is just a slip in, place the clips and go. A short cut, but easy peasy.

I have a Protect-A-Tow which was great on my last coach but I can't use it on my Anthem because the location of the exhaust pipe would burn it up.

I had a shop just turn the exhaust out the side and it works great. Plan to do the same on the next unit.

For what it is worth, the exhaust outlet can be turn. I had mine turned about 45 degrees. Think it is just one screw on the chrome extension. The Guardian fits on the toad front end bracket.
