Tree Sag

We park our coach in a side driveway for trip prep and recovery. We got back a couple days ago, just in time for 2 days of freezing rain. I didn’t have any idea that the large, native cedar tree near the drive would sag enough under the weight of the ice to lay in our coach! No limbs are broken so hopefully it is a “gentle” lean and hasn’t done any damage. I won’t know until it thaws over the next couple days and springs back in place. I know trying to cut them off will cause damage.

That's a tough one to predict. Looks like the slide topper is toast.
Unfortunate.

Vance, that is not the way to christen a new coach. I sure hate to see that and hope there is no damage.

Thanks, my friend! Me, too! Backyard cedars are springing back in place, we haven’t had the nerve to look in the front yet. Tomorrow!

That’s gonna leave a mark! Can’t believe we are leaving sunny NM to be back near Weatherford this weekend.

Our son in Arlington hasn’t seen freezing temps at all the last 4 days! No ice whatsoever.

May be a smart idea to get a professional tree service company to remove. Some of those tree companies will surprise with their ability to remove methodically with minimum to no damage. Just a thought.

It’s a cedar, normally surprisingly springy. We have several in the backyard that were greatly weighted down and have sprung back, we’re hoping this one will do the same. If not we will will definitely seek a professional, just cutting it will certainly cause damage. I think retracting the slides will also likely cause damage. Luckily, all that is on the coach is the more flexible ends of the limbs.

Keeping my fingers crossed that all works out and only a good buffing is needed.

Ice melted, rain ended and tree sprang back most of the way. No evident damage at all! Even most of the road grime is still there! Wash and get it back in storage!

Great news Vance! However I might be temped to take a hedge trimmer to a few outer branches. I do it RV parks when they are that close and I don't even charge them for it.
