Trick to changing windows?
I am trying to change the bottom part of the passenger side window. It is the glass that opens as a vent. I have removed the old glass, but am having difficulty getting the new one to fit back in because I don't know whether it should be re-installed with the rubber already attached (have tried several times) or without the rubber (window attaches easily) , and then try to squeeze the rubber through the crack between the glasses. My little rubber (foam), about 1/4 inch round is now looking pretty beat up and will need to be replaced.
Does anyone know how to do the install easily and simply before I do more damage to the window??

I don't know how,but I can tell you that they drill out the existing rivets and take the old window out. I believe they then insert the new window in, and then re-rivet the swinging arms back into the window frame. I also know that not all dealers know how to do it...as you might gather, been there and done that. Entegra just re-installed it this week.

Thanks for the response Dave. I have already drilled the rivets and removed the handle to get the old window out, which was easy. There is a round foam gasket that has to go between the hinge on the new glass and the frame and I am having trouble getting the window to fit properly in place if I try to install the new one with the foam strip installed on the new window. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a 'trick' to fitting it together.

It is hard. The last one I did, I installed the window first and then squeezed the rubber in afterwards.

I had one replaced last month. The Tech installed the rubber after installing the window. He used soapy water and a small flat head screw driver to push it in. Took a few minutes.

It looks like forcing the rubber in, after placing the window is going to be the best. Thanks for the Hehr instructions Mark, but they don't tell you what to do with the rubber piece, and I don't see it in the drawings.
Thanks to everyone for their ideas and experiences.

I didn't have to do it in two steps and put the rubber in later. It wasn't real easy but it went in.
