I have two challenges that I am hoping someone can shed some light on and allow me to address the problems.

First the driver's side front slide out awning does not roll up when we pull the slide out back in. I am curious if the mechanism that rolls it up is automated or just manual with tension on the awning to roll it in, or if there is a fuse that might have gone out. Or are we talking repair shop.

Second, our front A/C unit will come on for maybe a half a minute and then it pops the fuse above the driver's seat. Any steps to take to ensure it is not something simple or will that take a repair shop. Electrical and me have never mixed no matter what I try, if I had hair it would be unnaturally curly .

Mike,

The slide topper is spring loaded, so either it lost its load or is hung up.

If the A/C breaker is realeasing after 30 sec. sounds like a visit to a repair shop.

I just spoke with Bill in FL that is having the same problem with his slide topper. He said he has to get up there with a ladder and "flip it back". Might want to PM and get more details.

As for the A/C I would call Coleman direct and troubleshoot it over the phone. It may be a ceased up compressor in which the unit will need to be replaced.

I have the same problem with the DS slide topper. It has been " Fixed 3 times" and its not working again. Its spring tensioned and theres a center roller bracket that the roller keeps popping out.
The CS just fixed it in August and its done it twice since then.
If it gets a little water on it it will not come in properly.
The last two times it hasn't even rained.
The slide is to long for only one center roller.
If you have a tall person with you you can get on a ladder and roll it by hand as you bring the slide in.
My tall person went back to Texas so I'm not going to do it any more.

Thanks, I will work on the slide out and see what I can find, loved the comment, tall people in Texas, who knew?

Figured the unit would need someone with knowledge and probably correct tools.

Thanks to all three of you, Bill in Florida? Is that his sign on?

Mike

Mike,
With regards to the slide out awning as other have said it is a tension mechanism that can be adjusted. Sometimes debris i.e. pine needles, leaves or dirt can restrict the awning from retracting, if that's the case you can blow it clean or use a hose to wash out debris.

AC breaker, if you can get on the roof and remove the cover and then have someone turn on the unit you might be able to see what's causing the breaker to trip, it could be something as simple as the fan blade hitting the support bracket or housing? Good Luck...
