We live in Colorado and do this frequently. I head over the night before, turn autogen on, turn basement heat on, turn AquaHot on and set temp to 65 degrees. Drive it to house next morning. Fill up with water, flush lines, re-install water filter into fridge and away we go. No issues at all.

why fill with water? water adds weight and you flush when you reach your destination. enjoy and then rewinterize when you get back home. common sense. no offence not saying anything dirogitory

I have traveled both ways. Now that I have a MH with a heated basement it is much nicer to travel with a few gallons of water in the tank. Make a hot pot of coffee while traveling in cold weather and not stopping to sit on someone else's toilet seat is another plus.

Is the RV stored inside? If not there may be concerns with snow and Ice build up on and around the RV. A few years ago I stored my RV with a winter cover. The cover had a couple of feet of hard frozen snow on it with the tie down cords frozen to the ground. The storage lot folks had plowed the snow into 4 ft high piles along the isle that had also frozen hard blocking my escape. Needles to say the RV stayed home and we flew south!

I just hope it warms up a little so I can service the vehicle next week for the trip.
I do my annual service in October on a warm day and I also add anti-gelling additive to the fuel tank in November before we store it for a few weeks.

I agree. Part of the pleasure of traveling by MH is having your own food, your own shower and your own pooper close at hand. I always travel with water in tanks if possible. For the first day heading south in winter, a 5 gallon jug will take care of the pooper and bottled water takes care of drinking and tooth brushing.

I agree, nothing like having your own bed, bathroom and kitchen. We have the coffee pot going and the crock pot cooking dinner.
