My inquiry was in reference to my recent purchase of the Traffic Everywhere option for my GPS, Order #100179918 (placed on March 31, 2015 3:23:23 PM CDT). When I attempt to enter my Activation Code, I continually receive the following error code - "Unable to map traffic everywhere serial number".

The next day, I tried using the on-line chat option on the RM website, but apparently no one was available. I received an email on April 1st, confirming I had a "Missed Chat" session, and the reason for my request had been noted. That's all I have ever received from that attempted contact

I contacted customer support the following day and was advised to contact on-line customer support. I was told that there is an IT problem and that a fix should be complete by Friday (3 Apr) and I would be notified. Not hearing anything, I called on Monday (6 Apr) and was told the same thing, IT problem, and I would hear something by Friday (10 Apr). Still have heard nothing.

This is a little more than frustrating. It's my understanding that this is a one year subscription that I have already paid for, and am getting absolutely no use out of.

Not sure if it's related or not, but I did receive the following on screen Navishell error message - "An invalid argument was encountered".

Additionally, it appears that I am receiving only partial voice instructions or they are late, sometimes while in the middle of a turn

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Brian

Brian,

I have found your order number and had passed your information on to the appropriate party. A representative has attempted to contact you for assistance.

Thank you,

Rand, I did receive a call from an IT tech approximately 3 hours after posting on this thread. Thank you very much. However, I missed the call and have not been able to link up with the tech since then. We are playing phone tag right now. Hopefully we can iron this out tomorrow

Press the "tilt" button. When the front opens, the card will be in a slot on the lower part in the center.

Stew, If the GPS looks like it did in your Aspire you have a 4GB card. The update, available only on 8GB, looks completely different.

Just got off the phone with RM Tech support. My Traffic Everywhere app is up and running Required the tech to remotely access my SD card via my computer to delete then upload some new files. The tech, Pablo, could not have been anymore helpful. Great customer service. Thanks Rand McSam.

Hello,

I'd like to help you locate the SD card slot. The SD card slot will vary depending upon the model of your in-dash Xite unit:

X2 7” radio is on the bottom of the tilt able LCD panel. Access through pressing DVD Eject button (far right). Screen tilts and card slot is mounted on bottom of frame

X2S 6” radio is located on the right top front behind the SD card labeled cover

XSDM 10” card is located in the core which is mounted at the bottom of the center dash console below the DVD slot

Thanks,
Rand McSam

Rand McSam:

Thanks for the prompt comeback. I have now ascertained that I have the 8 GB card. Now...how do I download updates? I have opened an account, but all it does is sell stuff.

Awesome!

At this time there are no updates available, but I can help you get setup for future updates, which are done through the Rand McNally Dock. Please go to Rand McNally Support Dock Software and download the Dock. The installation will require you to have your card connected to the computer first, so please make sure you're connected before beginning the installation. Also, for great support and technical assistance, our technical support team is available 7am-6pm CST Monday through Friday and can help you if need be. They can be reached at 877-446-4863.

Thanks,
Rand McSam

RandMcSam

I have a question others might be interested in also. Like the rest on this forum I have a 14 Anthem with the XCite NAV radio running the Rand McNally 7720 software (I think). Last year when I bought the coach I called RiverPark to ask if the RandMcNally Real Time Traffic receiver would work with my unit. The tech was very nice and emailed me back that the Real Time receiver would not work on the RiverPark XCite radio and would only work on the dedicated Rand McNally GPS units. I see in this thread your discussions with BRIANW8602 about his purchase if the Real Time Everywhere (software add-in?). From what I have read that unit will pickup traffic info via WIFI. I have a cellular WIFI receiver I normally run inside my coach which presumably I could connect to the Rand McNally software. My question is how much of a data hog is that receiver. I buy a data "bundle" per month and would this unit eat a lot of data? The alternative is just to open my iPhone map and it shows traffic congestion. Is this gizmo easy to make work via the new data card I will get or as in Brian's case does it take one of your techies to help me configure it?

Dave and Chuck,

I may have celebrated a little too soon. Although I was able to finally input my Activation Code for the Traffic Everywhere, each time I have tried to use it, I receive the following message: "Traffic service unavailable. Please try again later". I've tried it about 5 times now, to include this morning after seeing your comments. Still no joy

I will contact RM IT again on Monday, and hopefully they have a fix for this. As far as how much data it's sucking up . . . . right now none!

Maybe this doesn't work with these units

Thanks for the heads up guys. I checked my card and it is the 4 GB card. Called River Park on Friday and the new 8 GB card is on the way.

Called RM CS this morning and left a message with the IT tech I spoke with last week. Described my new problem (post #54) and left my contact info. Cricket! Maybe tomorrow????
