We are getting ready to head north to the cool country. Our Rand McNally dock software says there is an update available. Where is the SD data base card on the 2017 Anthem's system ?

It's in the cabinet above the drivers seat, right above the almost worthless CD player.

I have a classic 2015 Anthem so I dont know anything about this question, but the answers have me baffled. The OP was asking about the SD card for the Rand McNally GPS. On my coach, that is inserted in the bottom edge of the Rand McNally itselt which tilts up to admit a CD ROM. So, the SD card needed for map upgrades is in the unit itself. Have they now remoted the memory or the whole RAM/CPU part of the GPS to the electronics cabinet and only have the display on the dash, and not the whole unit? I didnt know that was possible with the new units. Can any of you 17 owners bring me up to date?

And there is usually an updated operating system for the GPS at least yearly, and often updated maps every 6 months or so. I also have 2 Garmin GPS units which often have updated maps even more frequently than that.

Yes the brains of the unit and the SD card are in the cabinet above the driver. That hasn't mattered to me since I use Copilot on an iPad Pro mirrored to the front TV so I can see the route and directions as my wife navigates. Works better for me than the smallish 9" screen.

The CD player is also located above the driver so playing CDs while driving is not possible - someone made a terribly poor decision in deciding to relocate the CD player and not making it at least a 6 disk unit. The CD unit is huge like it would hold multiple disks but doesn't seem to hold more than one.
