US-64 in Tennessee

Have any of you in our community traversed US-64 west to east across Tennessee? Pondering how twisty it may be from Savannah Tn to Chattanooga for our larger coaches?? Too many small town intersections maybe?

On Google Maps, it appears to be 4 lane from Savannah to I-24 above Chattanooga.

We did it in '13 pulling a TT at the time. Roads are ok, mostly 2 lane and many small towns. The road was good enough and a MH shouldn't have a problem.

Not a big timesaver over I-40 though... And watch the signs close to the edge of the road going through the small towns. They are close to the road and the crown of the road makes you lean into them.

US64 is good. A lot of it is four lane. We have been over it many times, in a 45 ft mh, when we go to Decaturville Tn.

Slightly off topic - we were in Highlands, NC on 64 for the eclipse. Yikes. "No trucks over 20,000 lbs" was an understated sign. We had actually thought about using that route at some point in the future - No longer!

Not sure how long the scary part is but it seemed to be mostly around Highlands.

Thanks troops! I think we'll give it a shot in a few days, not going all the way to NC, just to I-75 south!

I have traveled it from Memphis to Chattanooga a few times, we have also traveled Hwy 72, both are pretty good routes if your in it for the scenery, if you want to get there fast, take the interstate.

Once you get to Monte Eagle you can coast all the way to Chattanooga...
