Vegatouch Issue - New to me

After working almost flawlessly for several weeks/legs, the VT is throwing a message I can't find. Of course since it's Thanksgiving everything is closed and I hardly think this is an emergency.

It has to do with the tablet app and the AV applications.

All the Components work fine with their respective remotes.

The Main VT panel works for everything except AV and there it does nothing.

When I try to connect, the tablet (Galaxy) is saying "The host did not respond. Please check your settings and try again" I've done that and followed the manual as well checking against my older tablet.

Given that the wall panel doesn't talk to the AV and the tablet won't connect, I suspect the router which is showing all the correct lights (green).

I've done a main power reset and unplugged the power line - no joy.

Any ideas - I can call FF or Entegra on Monday obviously.

There is another small component in the AV center by the router that needs a hard reboot from time to time. Its got a red Ethernet cable connected to it. I've had to remove and reinstall the power cable several times to get the Ipad or Galaxy phone to connect again. I'll be by the coach shortly and can post a photo of the component.

Photo of the RMC3 Media Controller.

Try doing a hard reboot on this component. If that does not work, reboot the router again after the reboot on the RMC3. You will probably have to reboot your galaxy or tablet also afterwards. We had the same issue and this is what FF had us do to reconnect. Hope this helps.

Wow - Thanks. I didn't know that device was involved.

But now I'm getting that my setting are incorrect. I had gotten past that with the settings to the message about the hub.

Rebooted all three.

The tablet is connected to the Cradlepoint Router. Here are my settings for the Firefly device:

Friendly Name: Used both the IP address and a custom name
IP Address 192.168.124.102
CIP Port 41790
PW DD274C60 (That's from the Pepwave Router - Also tried 2018 from the Firefly device.}

Now I'm getting "The host and port values appear to be incorrect...."

I'll try rebooting all three again in a bit

It looks like you are using the correct settings. Definitely use "2018" in the passcode field, not your router password.

I've attached the (2017) user manual here:

You will probably have to reboot the phones and tablets also.

Its a crap shoot not to mention a PIA to get these things re-connected sometimes. But when they work, they work nicely..!

Magic carpet is on to something. I believe it is caused by overheating. When I do the reboot, I also unplug/replug the large black box like plug. Can't do better than that right now cuz the rig is resting at NIRVC (AZ) awaiting parts (which were ordered October 9). Parts are now on the way since I emailed Joyce. Why oh why does it take my and her involvement to get something that simple done.

Well - I tried it all except the large black plugas Stu suggested. I will resume the war in the morning.

I think a clue is that the wall panel doesn't work. That isn't affected by the app issues I wouldn't think. Therefore it seems to me that I should work to reset the media controller and when that works (Fingers tightly crossed), Then I can work on the app.

We'll see

Update and a 90% Report

Thanks for all the help.

I unplugged everything I could find. Not sure Stu which large black box-like plug you were referring to but I unplugged anything black.

I rebooted in order the Media Controller then the router and then the tablet. I caught a few "Almost Nearly" Bad attachments and corrected before applying power. Suddenly everyone was playing nice together and working as they should.

As M-C said - it's a PITA but when they work it's pretty cool. I have seen some really easy to access panels - this is like 5 rats got together and said "Let's see how we can make this really hard to work on - tee hee hee."

And now for the next step

I then checked and sure enough the panel is now controlling the fron TV's

So on to the bedroom - No Joy...

Unplugged the power and the {I think) red input for about 10 minutes.

YEAAAAA Now the bedroom is working as it should

Little victories can be so gratifying!!

And now on to the O/S TV

Outside TV - arggghh

The tablet won't control the O/S TV. And the TV won't pick up the HDMI input of Direct but it does pick up the OTA channels using the remotes.

Close enough - I'm happy !!

I'll let NIRVC solve this one with smaller hands and more knowledge - not to say patience....

One other thing I learned on the Vega Touch from someone on the forum was to hit the "Master AV" when things get confused. That must clear all the confusion with the remotes. If you use the remotes and the tablet and the smart phone, the VT doesn't always know where it left off. Make sense?

Oh...and how could you possible solve anything without liquid confidence and colorful language..! Those two things belong in every ones tool box..lol

Thanks for that tip - I had forgotten it.

And I think the reason for the lack of colorful language was that I had used it all up the day and night before. The adult liquids were definitely a reward.
