Washing/cleaning the beast after a long road trip

I just washed off the beast after a long trip to the northwest and back. Damn, it was filthy. I had to wash it twice! Luckily, I have the CR spotless rinse and a foam cannon. Regardless, getting the bugs off was a real challenge.
Luckily, I had this for the windshield
https://www.amazon.com/Adjust-Brush-...hield+scrubber. It works pretty well.

I changed the basement shower fixture to be able to connect a garden hose and wash the bugs off the windshield with hot water. That really makes a difference as well. The microfiber bug cloth that was posted a while back is also unbelievable. https://norwex.biz/en_US/shop/produc...tchen_Cleaning

My evening bug washes are so much faster now with hot water.

Bugs are a huge headache to remove, stubborn little critters even after they are dead! I found a fantastic product for bugs that literally dissolves them to the point that you can rinse them off completely with a water hose.

Most people are familiar with Sea Foam for gasoline and diesel fuel, they also make a product I found by accident called Sea Foam Bug B Gone. Spray on the product, wait about one minute and rinse off, the bugs are gone!

I was skeptical, I've tried everything, dryer sheets, bug pads, you name it I probably tried it over the last 40 years of RVing. After trying Bug B Gone I've decided the people at Sea Foam are wizards, this stuff works so well it's literally magic! Couldn't find it in stores so I ordered from Amazon, after I tried it I ordered 4 more bottles! I will never have to scrub another bug again!!!

1/3 vinegar, 2/3 water in a spray bottle works great. Then I wipe everything down with a clean cotton cloth and water.

Dealer told me about this when I bought my coach.

Bugs

Bugs are especially bad certain times of the year around here. An old motorcyclist buddy of mine sprays hydrogen peroxide on "his" bugs, lets it sit for a few minutes and wipes right off. No scrubbing, no caustic cleaning agents and no damage to the windshield.

Bugs are a real pain up high:(. We've had great success with Almost Heaven Products--Greenie Bug cleaning cloth and their extender pole work great. http://almostheavenproducts.com/micr...ing-cloth.html

You don't use this on the diamond shield, just the windshield, right?

The water coming out is not that hot, and I do use it on the Diamond Shield. The faucet has hot and cold water, so it can be made any temperature. It is amazing how much easier bugs wash off with warm water.

But it's abrasive, no? It doesn't scratch the DS? I get the hot water part.

After trying to wash ours while traveling cross country this Spring, what with the campground restrictions and slides out while parked, I discovered Blue Beacon. For $40, its money well spent!

Buddy, there have been a few post where a few of us can wash while on the road and not have such a huge project when we get home. Personally I would never take my coach through a Blue Beacon, when I can wash brush less in a rest area with soft water and spot free rinse.

I tried my spot free rinse on the front of the MH the other evening after the warm water bug wash, spotless the next morning. With everything on quick disconnects, it's faster than filling a bucket of soapy water, the squeegeeing everything down after rinsing.

Using the cloth, my DS still looks brand new, no scratches. It's not really that abrasive, but it sure feels like it. However do not use it on the front cap, it does scratch.
