Water Filters

I changed our water filters yesterday and am not sure I put back proper one.
On the whole house filter the original said Flow guard and at top of canister there was a number 8
We went to CW and the largest number was a 5. I don't know the difference. Can someone explain the difference between a 5 and an 8.
Thanks in advance

I'm not 100% sure in your example but most water filters are identified by Micron size they allow particles. IMHO there isn't much difference between 5 Microns and 8 Microns,

When it comes time to change our filter, I will use the same whole house filter cartridges sold in home improvement stores and Walmart. I used those in my last MH and my S & B ... they work fine.

Here is a resource for water filters:

http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/

The big boxes have a limited selection but easy availability.
