Water out the overflow!
Fellow Entegra Coach Aspire owners,
I found water coming out of the fresh water overflow today and upon further investigation, I see that the freshwater tank is 100% full when the fill valve is in the vertical "off" position.
I remember reading about this issue that other owners have been confronted with. I can't find anything more about this problem except the OP said he replaced the intake valve with a brass 3-way for the original plastic problematic valve.
Can anyone elaborate on this subject or direct me to "the fix?"
We own a 2015 Aspire 44B.
Any assistance is gratefully appreciated.

We had the same problem with our Anthem - they changed the valve and it still happened - I read somewhere on this forum that it happens if the unit is not level - the 2nd time it happened we made sure the unit was level and only used the water out of the tank to help drain it - we did this about 3 times now we no longer have the problem when hooked to city water

Could possibly be one of two things: Bad fill valve or bad check valve in your water pump. Are you experiencing high water pressure where you are? I find if I regulate pressure to 40 lbs. or less problem does not occur.

Move your fill valve several times from fill to vertical. Sometimes the cut off valve inside gets stuck and see if that solves it. It does for a lot of folks.

90% of the time it's the check valve in the pump. I can tell you there's an easy way to check if it's going to fill your fresh water tank. Take the clear hose, that is used to winterize the system, and put the end outside the compartment. Turn the valve to the WINTERIZE position and pressurize the system with city water. If there is water coming from the clear hose it will fill your tank.
Put the winterizing valve back in normal position, shutoff the water and open the tank fill valve to depressurize system. Then put valve back in city position and pressurize system with water pump before turning on city water, turn off pump. Repeat check above to check if water still coming through pump. Repeat above until no water comes through clear hose. You may get there on first try, or it may take a few try's, but I've never failed to get it to stop.
Easiest way I've found to check this problem and know when you get it stopped.

Great idea using the winterizing hose. Entegra CS will have you remove the feed line from the pump and watch to see if water dribbles back out of the pump.
So you are basically saying keep "burping" the pump until the check valve seats properly. That has worked for me too but I had to wait and see if tank stopped filling.
Aside from replacing the pump with something better, what would be the harm of adding another separate check valve on the intake side of the pump as a more permanent fix?

Yes, keep checking until the check valve seats, usually doesn't take but a couple of times. Doing it my way you don't have to wait to see if the tank stops filling. No water out the clear hose no tank fill.
I believe ENTEGRA may have added another check valve for 2017.

Not on my less than 1 month old 2017 Aspire. Or if they did it isn't working, tank fills regularly. Will be employing your method next time we set up camp. Thanks again for the great tip.

Same problem on my anthem. First the fill valve was replaced and that did not take care of the problem. Entegra authorized a new pump and no more problems after it was replaced.

When fresh water tank fills up......secure city water and turn pump on.
Use up the fresh water in tank......water flowing thru pump has a better chance of flushing any debris inside pump out and cleaning off the check valve (just a diaphragm)
That is IF pump check valve is cause.
IF no water comes out of winterizing hose during test then FILL valve is problem
Exercising it back/forth sometimes clears seat, sometimes just fully opening it and allowing FULL pressure/flow thru valve will allow it to properly close/seal
And unregulated high supply pressure can be the cause.......use a reagulator set for 50# static (no flow) pressure

Can the pump check valve be removed and cleaned?

The one time it happened to me was when I did not shut off water supply before switching from tank fill to city. Now I alway make sure there is no pressure from water source before cycling the plastic valve in either position. Hasn't happened since.
