Water pressure regulator
Looking for the correct water pressure to set the adjustable regulator. The gauge is preset for 45 lbs. Anyone have any insight?
Just completed the black tank rinse modification with the check valve and a pressure regulator.
I know I have seen this discussion somewhere before but have been unable to find it on the forum. The owners manual only says to use a regulator.

I use 55. I have seen others post 50 PSI. The PEK pipe fittings were rated at 65 PSI on my previous MH.

I was told 55 psi is about the max pressure for the coach.

I use 55. This rig and the 2 before. They should be pressure tested at 125. Or so I am told.

I was just looking at the PEX pipe on my Aspire. I was surprised but it is rated for 160PSI for cold water. The rating goes down some for hot water. Not sure if the fittings are rated that high either. I did not know PEX would stand that kind of pressure. Of course there are weak spots in the system like the pump, filter, etc.

I'm running 45 psi on my regulator and it seems fine. I would enjoy 55-60 but I want to avoid any leaks. By running my pressure at 45 psi the water pressure seems more or less the same as when dry camping on the water pump alone. The water pressure at my S&B is kind of wimpy so I'm used to it.

I run 45 psi which is sufficient for my needs. But ... I have an older coach with some PEX and some PolyButyl. I trust the pipe more than the ring clamp connections.

The weak point is in the seams of the tanks, not so much the PEK fittings. At least that was what was explained to me by Travel Supreme. TS told me not to exceed 65 PSI. So I have stayed with the 55 PSI rule.

My rig says 45 max.. My regulator is set at 50....
One comment: There are regulators and there are regulators.. The ones you often find at RV stores that are cylinders about the size of a hose coupling.. JUNK, adjustable or not, JUNK.
Watts, Zurin and Valterra both make much larger units, My current regulator is a 3/4 " ZURIN,, last was a 3/4" WATTS, it died of old age and frost damage. I thin I have the damage fixed, but need a rebuild kit for it. (new diaphragm and washer) .
Fact: When I first hooked up the ZURIN and set it to 50.. I opened the "Dog Shower" and watched the needle on the pressure guage.. Act like it was welded in place.. Nice full pressure showers I get.

What tanks do you think they were referring to? (that are pressurized).
My only concern has been for excessive pressure on check valves (particularly the one in the fresh water pump).
Not that I'm questioning the max of 65psi ... sounds ok to me.

Slightly off topic, but we are set at 55 or so. Maybe 58. The issue we're finding is that the fresh water tank fills even though the valve is turned properly and has been checked. It doesn't happen every place we stay. Here in Gardiner, MT. it didn't happen, nor did it in St. Mary. But it did it in Helena.
Not a big issue, but a puzzle.
Be gentle please.
