Water Pump PSI

My wife is growing tired of the low pressure, relatively speaking, of our Anthem. Is our coaches equipped with 40-45 psi pumps? Anybody have experience with 60 psi pumps? Are they louder? More vibration?

I believe I read somewhere max water pressure is 55 psi. Can't remember if that was aquahot or for general rv plumbing fixture. Maybe someone with more experience can validate this or correct my memory if I am wrong

Aquahot. Burner is designed to heat at a certain flow rate. PJ @ Entegra will caution you about making changes that increase flow. Common hot water problem for Entegra CS is where owners remove aerators to increase pressure.

I replaced my Shurflo with a Remco Aquajet ARV pump. I have run this pump in a previous MH for 10 years and have been very pleased with it. It is smooth, quiet and only runs fast enough to supply the amount of water you are asking for. No pulsing. This pump can deliver up to 75 psi if needed and at a rate of 5 gpm. I know of the flow warnings by CS but have not experienced any problems. You know, you can adjust the amount of water flow by the tap handle. However, I have had no problems and paid no attention to faucet handle positions.
The stock Entegra Shurflo and the Remco are like day and night, No comparison. You can buy a Shurflo for about $45 and the Remco at about$185. Remco is a leader in pumps and they last. FWIW. my 2 cents.

pat

PS, i'm not recommending anyone use this pump or exceed EC recommendations. Just sharing my personal experience.

Remco Water Pumps

just a heads up on Remco water pumps. I had several go bad over the course of a year and the factory won't do a warranty replacement directly, you must go through the dealer you bought it from. This can be inconvenient if, for example, you bought it in Florida and are then in Colorado.... (my most recent circumstance). And the warranty approval process is slow so you have to set up reminders on your calendar to see if you are going to get reimbursed.... not a customer friendly process.

Pat, thanks. Our issue is the shower head. It just isn't "refreshing" as we are used to.

I recently had an issue with a Shurflo pump, 4008 model. It's rated at 55psi. My pressure was fluctuating badly when taking a shower and I was about to just replace the pump. Called Shuffle to discuss a good alternative and found out there is an adjustment screw on the pressure switch. It's a 1/16"(If I remember right) allen head set screw. I turned it half a turn clockwise and solved my issue.

Andy, I have found many times that the low pressure problem is with the campground pressure. Take a pressure reading at your S&B with the pressure you are use to. https://www.lowes.com/pd/WaterMaster...-Gauge/1126113 I check the CG often and find many that are in the 30 PSI range. I use the water tank and pump instead of CG water.

With the gauge you can also check your pump PSI and see how well it is preforming. The $10 gauge at Lowe's takes a lot of the guess work out of water pressure problems. It is easy to remove the shower head, purchase a 1/2 pipe to 3/4 hose adapter for the pressure gauge at Lowe's, about 2 bucks. You may find after all the water filters etc, that the pressure at the shower head may be 1/2 of that in your S&B.

If you are using a water restrictor instead of a full 1/2 inch flow through pressure regulator, do change that out. The restrictors are worthless and will cause the problem you are experiencing.

Most upgrade water pumps do run quieter. I will probably upgrade mine to a higher volume 55 PSI pump this summer.

Good suggestion. I put one of those om my last MH. I replaced and kept it when I traded. I have been considering putting it on the the new coach. Thanks.

Brobox - I'm specifically talking about the water pump. It only puts out about 45 psi at the showerhead and only about three quarter of a gallon per minute.

Mine is about the same way....I will be increasing it to a 55 PSI pump. Sorry I misunderstood the low pressure problem.
