Water Softener installed at NIRVC Phoenix
Showers are a dream and nice not having to lug around a double On-the-Go. Also don't have to re-charge every 2 weeks. It holds 10+ pounds of salt that should be good for about 6 months.

Nice! Is that the front bay on the passenger side? Where does the brine go during a regen?

I recently installed one of those as well. Haven't had it long enough yet to report on consumption time but so far am very impressed with the unit. Also have a deionizer for the RoadWave pressure washer.
The softener is much like a residential software. The system uses something like 10 gallons of water during regeneration so it's minimal compared to a larger residential softener. The drain from the softener goes into the gray tank so you will gain about 10 gallons of gray water during regeneration. The meter tells you how many gallons remain until regeneration and it will auto-regen at 2 AM if you set it up for that plus you can check your meter and do a manual regen any time if you plan on breaking camp and traveling or dry camping for a while. The system really does take the hassle out of the manual regeneration softeners. You can program the softener for your water hardness and it will take it from there. The hardness for my location gives meu 600 gallons of treated water between regens.

I had the same system installed two weeks ago. In a 2017 it fits nicely in the first bay behind the driver (no batteries there now). The regen water goes into the gray water tank; only about 8 or 9 gallons. Regen is automatic after a specified number of gallons used or you can do manual regen. Mine regens at 2:00am.
Sorry, I see I'm repeating what Mark posted. It's basically a 12,000 grain system, so at the default setting of 20 grains the regen occurs after 600 gallons. There is a continuous readout showing gallons left until regen.
It is important to use salt crystals and not ice melt mixtures or salt tablets. Based on starting with a 40lb bag of salt the salt tank appears to hold about 25lbs.

Locations vary based on year and model of your coach. Our 2015 Anthem system was installed next to the slide our refrigerator on passenger side fairly close to the Gray tank, and near the electrical outlet.

Very nice install. Love it. Want more info from those that have it installed. The portable system lasts 2 weeks, 3 max, when full time depending on where you are.
