What do you do about loose nut covers?
Ok, Ok, now that we are done giggling, what do you do about loose nut covers on your wheels? I have one or two on each wheel that seem to be very loose. I have not had one fall off yet going down the road but they do fall off when washing the wheels. Do I just need to replace the loose ones?

Put one wrap of electrical tape around the nut, then put the loose cover on.

They are fairly inexpensive to replace. I found the best price at Freightliner. Our previous coach was on a Freightliner chassis. You can even opt for chariot wheel spikes. Definitely will make a statement. Remember, size matters.

Go to a truck stop and have them tighten them up, 'cause you aren't going to change the tires any way.
SORRY i didn't read the post correctly.

They are not the expensive to replace, less than $2.00 and any major truck stop. However with the FL heat, some of the new ones will stretch out in a short period of time as well. Learned that one the hard way too. Never lost another one after learning the tape trick for the loose covers.

I found scotch tape to be about the right thickness to tighten the loose nut covers up. One wrap around the nut did the trick. Can also try moving that loose nut cover to a different position which may help.

They are also available in a threaded tighten by hand design. Purchased mine at the infamous I-80 truck stop in Iowa...$3.00 each and a HUGE selection.

If metal, just ding them a bit out of round.

Thank you for the tip. I had one fall off while parking at the campground. Checked other's, and had 3 more very loose, and I just took them off until I could figure out how to secure them better.
