What Is Your Average Cost For Insurance

I've been looking into the cost of insurance for my future Entegra Cornerstone or Anthem. I completed a quote on the Progressive website and they quoted me $1,873. 00 annually, for a "Choice Package" and $2,071.00 for the "Plus Package". The biggest difference between the two is the amount of coverage for bodily injury, property damage, uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury, uninsured/underinsured motorist property damage, and the amount allowed for vacation liability. This quote was for New Jersey, but for you guys that are in other parts of the country, is this about the average cost of insuring your rig or is this considerably more than what you're paying?

Thanks,
Tony

The biggest thing I noticed when I moved to Central Florida several years ago was insurance rates here, they are just ridiculous. With that said, 2013 Cornerstone 45J with Nationwide, through Gilbert Insurance, my annual rate is $2,943 w/ $1,000,000 in Liability & Uninsured Motorist coverage.

Blue Sky, $2000 (if paid in full for year), $2500 decreasing deductable with no accidents, total replacement costs which increase through the 7th year. Policy is written for Northern VA (which I will be changing to SD shortly).

So it sounds like the rate that I was quoted is in the ballpark. One piece of information thwy asked was the amount of time annually that I planned on using the RV. I put that I would most likely use the RV around 30 days annually, but I positive it will be moe than that. What is the type amount of time that guys use your RVs annually?

If I remember right it was like five months or less... We have just closed on selling the house and I'm anxious to see what thee"full-time" rate will be.

GMAC quoted me $2,000 plus on our Ambassador. Ended with Progressive $1,400 with total cost replacement.

Plus 1 for Blue Sky. I've had GMAC, and National Interstate and Blue Sky beat them hands down. Also checked several other insurance companies and none compared.

Hi tdwayne69,
Consider contacting Farm & City at 800-331-1520 or RV Advantage | FCIS Insurance - RV Insurance, Motor Home Insurance, Travel Trailer Insurance Give them a call. Do not use their online quote. Farm & City is a broker for RV insurance. I've been with them for years. They use several different companies. Every year at the Tampa RV Super show, I leave my declaration page with the RV insurance companies that have a place at the show. None have ever contacted me with a better rate. My coach insurance is about $1300/year. This includes $250/$500K liability and an agreed coach value of $175K if the coach is totaled (no actual cash value).

Hello Gary,

Thanks for the advice, I will look into them as well.

Try 21st Century (div of Framers). I wound up with them after having Progressive, Hartford, and GMC.
I bundled my 3 cars with the MH and pay a $1k/yr on just the MH, with good coverage, on an 2011 DP.

We pay just over $800 per year with Geico. We have 2 other cars with them so there is a multi car discount.

Blue Sky (through an independent ins agent never ask how much use during the year. I got a $2600 quote from Geico, but only if I bundled my vehicles with it (additional cost). Progressive was $3500...consistent with other threads I've read ... nuts. Same levels of deductibles.
