7.3 is the best I ever got and I've run 55 mph to 70 mph. Two thing that did improve mileage was the engine computer updates from Cummins. I was getting 5.6 MPG, found out there were 23 upgrades required. After breaking the 10,000 mile mark, I finally got into the 7 mpg mark. Mine was never one of the best MPG 450's so I just drove it and quit checking mileage except for seeing if it was kind of staying in line once and awhile.

Cool

I normally cruise between 65 & 70 mph, towing a Jeep Cherokee.

Over time, my average mileage has been 7.2mpg

Like Chuck, I have also had the engine software upgraded with 20+ updates. That didn't improve my mileage, but it did cure a rash of CEL's. That is something you should have checked and updated.

I cruise between 62-68 usually. I don't know what happened on this last 3 month trip, but we did the calculations and we are getting over 8 mpg now. Maybe the active air??? Wouldn't think so, and we did mountains, maybe this beast does "improve" with age (mileage).

I just passed 40K on mine. Just got back from 3K trip to DC from OKC cruise set @ 65mph and got 8.0 for entire trip. Continued gradual increase over life of coach.

A speed of 61-62 mph will give you a decent mileage. Mileage will get better as the engine gets more miles on it. My lifetime average after 33,000 miles is 7.49 mpg calculated. Actual is probably better because this included the generator and Aquahot burn for the first 3 years. Dash readout is regularly 8.5-8.7 mpg.

Running at 65 mph is definitely my best mileage, some where between 7.5 & 7.8 mpg.
Anything above 65 mph and the fuel mileage deceases significantly.

Had and interesting conversation with a full timer in CO years ago about driving 55 mph to get the best mileage and driving the speed limit to get where you are going. We figured at 55 mph, it would take one additional stay per week at an RV park, then at $30. per night. Driving the speed limit using 1 mpg savings did not offset the additional RV park cost for the week of travel. Just one method of calculation if there is a savings driving slower.

I have found the sweet spot for our coach at 64 mph. That seems to be where I get the best mileage I travel the same speed and Ben when I am in California even though the speed limit is 55 . I have the extra bbq box on the back plus pull a 2016 Lincoln. Coach has 67,000 miles. I also have a tablet with the silverleaf software installed which I think has really helped me with fine tuning my mpg. We just got off a 7,000 mile trip this summer and I averaged 8.7 for the entire trip. When I go from Southern California to Tucson Arizona which is about a 1100 mile round trip I usually average close to 9

The silverleaf software connects directly to the port under the steering wheel and it lets me customize the gauges with lots info.

Maybe I am just lucky or maybe all the years driving an electric car helped me keep my foot out of it most of the time.

Can’t wait to break this motor in to see what kind of mileage I can get.

I think the mpg the factory readout gives is just an average so I don’t bother with looking at it.

The sweet spot for us for fuel economy (thus far...it's a new coach) for the past 2000+ miles seems to be around 63-65 mph. This was from one "experimental" tank, as we mostly drive whatever speed the truckers drive in order to maintain a smooth flow of traffic, and that is usually 70-72 mph or so (and economy drops a lot).

But we did not buy a motorhome because it was economical.

2015 Anthem. Seems like mpg is ~ 7.5 to 7.8 running 60 to 75 mph towing 2013 F150 4x4. I hav tried cruising at 60, 65, 70 and 75 with no appreciable change in mpg.

2015 Anthem.... cruised at 62-65 all the time. 2019 Cornerstone 605 ho cruise 62 to 68-69 depending on the highway speed limit... higher out west where speeds are higher and a few mph in the east where the speeds are lower.

I usually found that I got at least 7.5 mpg in the 450 hp (towing a C-RV) and now less on the Cornerstone.... high 6s at this point, but essentially still breaking in the Cummins 605. Certainly a fuel miser, but I am happy with it...

I consistently run 68 mph on the Interstates and average between 7.2-7.8 mpg depending on terrain. That is with the dash air conditioner on. I really don’t pay that much attention on the MPH rather the relaxing ride. At times I will run between 70-72. Higher speeds usually equal more “driving” and less sightseeing.
Enjoy the trip not the fuel consumption.
