Whirlpool washer turns on lights flash then turns off

I have a RV whirlpool washer. 6 months old. Lately I am having problems getting it to start/run. I put in the clothes - select the cycle - push all the right buttons the lights turn on - the door clicks closed, the drum moves a little to pretend it is sensing and then nothing happens for 2 minutes. Then it all turns off and the door unlocks. Click it is over. The next day I try again and it all works. This is the 3rd time this has happened. I thought it was a lack of power. I started the generator up and no difference. (No other appliances were working so there was lots of power to run the washer). Go figure? Any ideas as to what is going on?

Fairly common. I replaced the latch on mine and it had no effect. I think there is some weirdness with the firmware or circuitry of the washer. I use mine frequently and have found that this usually works:

Start cycle - a little movement then nothing.
Wait a minute until the door unlocks.
Rapidly open and close the door - no need to slam.

This usually starts the ball rolling for me. YMMV.

Thanks for the posts back. Sounds like the door switch. I was going for the power source. Will give that a try.
Hope the washing machine gods smile down upon me today. LOL
Will get switch replaced during our final rig check up.

Ran into the same problem today. I followed Bob's method, it did not work for me. Karen tried it and a load of clothes are now washing. Try switching users, it worked on ours. I hope this does not continue.

On the weeks I'm working, I use mine 2-3 times. I have never not been able to get it going. Usually takes a try or two. The Whirlpool folks were not able to help - they replaced the door switch. Wonder if this is something Entegra can address when I'm there in November?

I spoke with CS at Entegra Friday and they put the service issues on the appliance manufactures shoulders. On my dishwasher drawer problem....they are going to have a rep come out to look at it if I don't have it fixed by Monday. They told me they do not have appliance repair capabilities, only R&R if they are not repairable. They do schedule appliance repair people during scheduled appointments. They did for my refrigerator.

Here is what DW did to get it to work. Did all of the normal steps for starting with all the lights blinking, after one minute she pushed the start button again and it stated working. This is the third time it has worked this way by hitting the start button the second time after a minute or so of not starting and the locked door and wash button flashing.

Our washer quit last Monday. Would fill then stop flash F06. Took 3 days to first find someone willing to extract washer from coach. Got it out today on the RV pad. Had to then drag it to where I could hookup to power and water. Appliance repairman showed up today, needs a new motor, estimate $758. This is going to be expensive repair Bill for Entegra, between service call $100 extraction and insertion plus I'm assuming a new washer....

Ouch, mine was much easier, we switched users and it has been working fine. Sure glad it is under warranty, but still a hassle.

Chuck what do you mean you switched users? Are you still talking about the washing machine.
