Who's been here before...

The Traverse Bay thread reminded me of that trip where this went down. To say the least it was a bad day.

If that happened at Traverse bay resort they obviously tried to squeeze you into and non-big rig friendly site. That park has many sites that are all concrete or stamped concrete or pavers that have enough room that there is no way you would be parked in the mud. I think I could have pulled into our drive-in site with my eyes closed with plenty of room!! LOL

That's when you don't even try to pull into your site and make the trip back to the office and negotiate something else, or hit the road again!!!

We are currently spending a month in extreme South Texas. Our first time near the river. We have been surprised at the number of parks that are set up with only concrete under the patio, and nothing but grass/dirt under the coach or 5th wheel. Seems like a very strange set up! I will never use such a park or site but they are VERY common in this area. We have taken the time to examine most parks within 30 miles of Harlingen and almost all are mostly set up that way. We are paying extra for gravel under our rig but no concrete patio because the fully paved ones were sold out last spring.
