Wifi campground booster

Has anyone found an effective, easy to install wifi booster? Someone just said to contact Wilson electronics. Feedback appreciated.

We've used a , Linksys, ( a division of Cisco systems) antenna for wi-fi , it was line of sight to the park tower dependant , but worked well when we needed it.

I have a system from WiFiRanger that I've been very happy with. Not nearly as cheap as the approach Craig linked to, but their software makes it very easy to configure and their tech support has been very good. I have the Go2 inside unit and the previous version of the external (Mobile Ti). Most of the time I don't need the external part - I have it on a mast I used to put on a flagpole mount on the ladder of my Monaco and I haven't worked on how to install it on the Entegra yet.

This system makes it very easy to switch back and forth from park wifi to our Verizon Jetpack for all our devices at once - you can even set it up to "fail-over" to the Jetpack under conditions you can set up.

Lots of very good information on this topic available at the RV Mobile Internet Resource Center.

Some of you may not be aware that WiFiRanger now has full-feature products priced as low as $159. They may have a bit less power than the larger units but they use the same basic software and have the same "plug and play" design philosophy so it's not necessary for you to know anything about the technology to use them effectively. Take a look at the current product line at WiFiRanger.com

Wonderful! Easy, cheap, and reliable. My WiFi Ranger died right after warranty ran out. The system in the video costs less than $100, and works great!

FWIW Liinksys is now owned by Belkin. If you need a reminder Belkin took a big hit for using it's old router line to add advertising to your web search.

Wifi campground booster

I have a NetGear EX6100 that does a fine job. 2 channels. $60
I expect most of these gizmos work okay. A pretty competitive playground at those prices.

We've been using the Pepwave Surf OTG for a while and it works well.

Combines WiFi booster with a router, coach access point and MiFi interface all in one box. Is easy to switch from cell service to campground WiFi. Never need to reconfigure onboard devices.

The Pepwave supports hardwire tether to our Verizon 6620L Mifi, many similar devices only support WiFi over WAN. This simplifies things greatly.

Has suction cups and we just keep it inside stuck to the front windshield.

Are there more powerful solutions? Of course, but after 5 years on the road, the number of campgrounds that had a network infrastructure worth using can be counted on one hand, so for us investing in high end equipment to access an oversaturated (frustratingly slow) back end makes no sense.

Purchase from 3GStore to ensure you get the firmware that supports hardwire tethering.

Some good sugestions here,, also the Jefa Tech product is used by some folks . I like the one featured in the tube video, but you will have to put in all the settings. If you like plug and play the WiFi Ranger is among the best

Pep wave Surf Soho. Also works with hotspot for WiFi as WAN. I do some Telework and can use my phone or pay wifi, whichever is better.
