Window replacement
I thought I had read a thread on replacing the Windows but I can't find it. CS sent me 3 windows to replace the Windows with glass seperation. From what I can see the easiest way to do this job would be drilling out the pop rivets hold the window crank in place. Is this how others have done it or am I missing something?

I replaced the small front passenger side window this spring. It's not hard. CS sent me a detailed instruction page. But you are correct, drill out the 2 rivets, then remove the crank assembly. From the outside, rotate the window up past the 45 degree mark and it should come out of the track easily. Remove the rubber gasket along the top of the window if it is a split pane window. Install the new window, just in reverse of the removal process. Once the window is in place, insert the rubber gasket, then reinstall the crank mechanism and insert new pop rivets. I used a Q-tip and black gloss paint to paint the rivets black once they were installed. Hope this helps.

I don't want to jinx myself but I've only had to replace that one, lower passenger vent window. After seeing folks replacing Windows 2 or 3 times I wonder if the frames were installed improperly, meaning twisted or with high and low spots across the opening leading to these pane failures or if the pane binds on one side of the frame? If was replacing one of these troublemakers I think I'd closely inspect the frame for highs and lows, bulging, and fasteners too high.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the information.
They sent me the window but not the gaskets. is the gasket material rubber? Also I was thinking about using stainless steel screws and nuts instead of rivets so I can redo it easier if need be.

The June issue of Motorhome has a detailed article about changing windows.

Even though I treat it very gently - like the delicate flower it is, my front passenger vent failed after replacement at PDI. I did the patented Cruzer (TM) fix last week. Will see how it holds up.

I glanced at that article and it looked like it pertained to replacing the entire window. I've done that with past RVs without a problem and it was pretty easy. I'm going to replace just part of the window due to glass separation.
I guess I'll drill out the rivet holding the gears and go from there.
