Zone heat in mid bath

Hard to believe I know, but I have a question on zone heat.
2014 Aspire 44b floor plan.
I ‘think’ our mid bat is zone 3 but not 100% sure.
Is that correct?
We’ve had no issues and usually the mid bath is very warm, but the last two nights in ATL, our mid bath was coolish, so was the the bedroom and rear bath. I kept the rear cooler for sleeping but was told that it was too ‘cool’ by their (DW) standards.
I am trying to determine if it was the setting or if I have a problem. Zone one seemed like it was running constantly. Probably wasn’t, but trying to get used to the sounds and what is normal.

I assume you are talking about when the thermostat is on "gas" heating. It is different that when on electric. On gas, there is no heat exchanger in the mid bath, so not much heat. There is a heat exchanger in the wall between the mid bath and kitchen next to the refrigerator, but it blows into the kitchen. You will get some indirect heat off the back side of it, but not much. When using the electric heat pumps you will get heat in the mid bath from the overhead vent. On gas heat Zone 1 you get heat from the front, below the sink and next to the refrigerator. Zone 2 is the floor heat and zone 3 is the rear bath. I hope that makes sense.

Hello James, that could be true. I do have a grate/vent in our half bath and thought it was putting out heat similar to the other registers.
Yes, I am referring only to gas heat, not our heat pumps.
I’ll be back in the coach next month and will see what’s what.
Thanks.

I thought in that year it was just a grate with no blower on the B models. The heat radiated when zone 1 was on gas.

Nathan,

Thanks.
It may have been my imagination that there was a blower in the half bath register.
I asked the dealer to check settings and outputs so I will know if there was an issue or a figment of my imagination.lol.

That is how my 13 works for the mid bath - has a grate, and you can feel the heat radiating out of it, just not blowing like the other side. My Aqua Hot unit is almost under the mid bathroom too.

Actually it is the same heat exchanger as all the others just on some floor plans it has the fans hooked up and others it is just radiant heat. It may have the fan wires in it and just not hooked up. On that year the wires should be there and it would be part of zone one heat. Zone 2 gas heat is always floor heat with no fans hooked up. If you want to hook it up and the wires are there you will need to make sure you add the duct work so it blows out on some units I have added a sw in the bathroom so you can shut it off.

My 2017 44B has a heat exchanger under the mid bath vanity but it is for heating the living room. My 2013 RBQ had the same setup. The grate that you see in the mid bath toe kick is an air intake, with the heated air blowing out the other side into the living room. All the heat exchangers need to have an air intake of some form or other.

So while there is no direct gas powered heat source for the mid bath, convection keeps ours reasonably warm. However as previously posted the electric roof units will supply hot air directly into the mid bath if desired.

Thanks Rob, and everyone, I will look at this again. My main concern was understanding what should be going on in case they call about the unit.
