Can a MB Sprinter tow a car 3000lbs?

Considering something like a Prism or a View. Can these things tow my Subaru outback which weighs 3000 lbs?

I would check with the manufacturer, they are the main resource. They should have the tow capacities on their literature.

I have a 2013 Winnebago Via on sprinter chassis. It is rated to tow 5,000 lbs. I tow a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee which weighs 3900-4000 lbs no problems. It does cost me about 2mpg when towing.

Read the manual. Even if it has a 5000lbs hitch it states that using that will out it over gcwr. The maximum to stay below is 4200lbs.

Depending on year/options, the Outback can weigh closer to 3900 pounds.

Yeah I suppose that's true. I'm not sure I need to tow a car at all if I'm a little MB sprinter - if I needed a car someplace that badly, I could rent one

I have a Leisure Travel Vans Unity on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500 (5000 lbs. towing capacity). I've been towing a loaded up Hyundai Accent for a year now. Probably weighs about 3500 lbs. and no problems so far. Trade the Outback in for a XV Crosstrek which weighs about 3100 lbs. I think the Prism has a 3500 lbs. towing capacity, the View 5000 lbs.

I tow a 96 Geo Tracker (2900+ or -) with no problems.

so here's the kicker... I take our motorhome to expos - the specific reason we bought the outback was the fact that it has 63 cubic feet of space in the back, which exactly exactly matches our show gear.

BUT in the past, we had a 40 foot bus, which we could not always get right up to the expo center with, thereby having to park someplace else, and use the car to get us and our stuff to the expo right?

BUT if I had something like a view, I could always get that little bad boy up to the expo center - i might not even need to take a car at all, I might just prefer to tow a small trailer and rent a car if I absolutely needed to. My outback is up for sale, but before I went down that road, I was just wondering if I might should keep it just cause it's all rigged up.

Currently have a 2013 Itasca Navion IQ 24G towing a 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Weighs 3600lbs. Towed a heavier Ford Ranger before. Both tow nicely and don't even know they are there until a very steep grade then I shift down one gear. Love the 24G.

I have a 2007 Itasca Navion 23H and the paper work with it says I can tow about 3500LBS. I downloaded 2011-2012-2013 Motorhome towing guide and they only car I would be comfortable towing (given what I might put in the car) is a Honda Fit. I think it comes in at 2600 or 2800 LBS. But that's just me.

You have the older 5 cylinder motor which is limited to 3500lbs. The 6 cylinder has more horsepower and torque so it can tow up to 5000lbs.

Not quite. The 6 cylinder COULD tow that much but it will be over the maximum combined limit. 4200lbs is the maximum per the manual. On the Sprinter you need to get the weight to know what tou can tow as a limit for tour unit.
