My 2016 MB Sprinter Manual says don't add anything to the diesel fuel.

"Do not mix such fuels with diesel fuel and do not use any special additives. This can otherwise lead to engine damage. This does not include flow improver additives. For further information, see "Flow improvers"." and "The flow properties of diesel may be inadequate at low outside temperatures due to paraffin separation.
* Malfunctions resulting from paraffin separation can only be rectified by heating the entire fuel system. Park the vehicle in a heated garage, for example.
To prevent operating problems, diesel with better flow qualities is available during the winter months. You can obtain information at the gas station or from your fuel supplier.
Your vehicle is equipped with a fuel preheating system. This improves the flow properties of the diesel by approximately 46 degrees F (8 degrees C). ULTRA- LOW SULFUR DIESEL can be used without risk of malfunction down to an outside temperature of approximately 14 degrees F (-10 degrees C).
".

Mine is stored outside. I keep the tank full. January 2018 we had 2-3 weeks of below freezing temps, some in the teens(unusual for here). Didn't have any problems early February when we took it to Florida for 3 weeks.

I've recently decided to add a biocide to my Sprinter. It'll be sitting with a half tank until January and the last thing I want is to start it up to head south and clog the fuel filter because it has algae.

I always park mine with a full tank. Mercedes recommends, Before parking the vehicle, the fuel tank should be filled with conventional ULSD fuel with maximum B5. Reducing the empty volume of the fuel tank reduces the amount of oxygen left in the fuel tank and can minimize fuel aging. See Extended Storage section, page 10, of this Mercedes Bulletin, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...KYw6_1zDo0MmKL.

Diesel fuel treatment

Nothing has performed better as a fuel additive for me than Nothing.
It’s alway there when I need it, extremely economical to use, and takes no time to add it.
Nothing is simpler and very effective!
