Do Sumo & Hellwig affect MB warranty?

I am wondering if anyone had information about whether or not installing sumo springs and hellwig sway bar on a new Winnebago View would raise any MB warranty issues. A Winnebago dealer said no and a Freightliner service department raised the question but didnt say for sure. Any info appreciated.

Unless the installation caused the failure of a Mercedes component, then, by law, there is nothing Mercedes can do. The Hellwig bar and Sumo springs are common upgrades and I would upgrade without hesitation if I thought my coach need them.

Dynamax Isata 3 comes with the Hellwig swag bar installed. So no problem with that.

Absolutely not. Showed upgrades to my tech (23 firmware updates N/C) and he thought
all Sprinter 3500's should come with them as OEM. Substantial difference in handling.

Trenchmonkey,
We have a 2017 Renegade Vienna and I am very interested to know what kind of suspension upgrades you have made to your Villagio, i.e. brand, whether springs, shocks, etc... We love our new Vienna, but I am sure it could benefit from some some stabilization enhancements. I definitely note a sway in certain situations.
thanks for your reply.

Tiffin Wayfarer comes stock with Sumo Springs, so I don't think it affects warranty.

I am having sway bar installed and konis. Dealer more than happy to install, and does not void warranty. About $1000 labor including alignment and tires.

Update

I just installed konis front and back, hellwig sway bar 1.5in, and full alignment. It is day and night handling.

The Mercedes-Benz tech said that Sprinters are designed for temporary loads with the stock suspension. He said once you upfit with permanent weight, the van should be re-aligned and replace stock shocks with he heavy duty ones.

Winnebago did not do that with my 2015 Era. So it drove like crap. I always check at shows, and yp u can see the stock shocks, so Winnebago still cheap and drive like crap. I had this complain since i bought mine new.

He was correct. Now with the new hardware, it drives like a car. No more excessive swaying while driving. Passing trucks swaying is almost not existent.

All my parts were $1,400. Dealer labor was $1,000. I had mine done at Mercedez of Morristown, NJ. Great service. You can talk to the tech, or sprinter advisor.

Who cares, the warranty will be void say before you have any issues. Summos, shocks, sway bars, anti sway, safe t steer are a must have. I did them all over a couple years time on a class c now have 2018 Fleetwood southwind and doing all of it before first trip along with new radio, NAV, speakers, satellite radio. New coach sways so much around turns you think you will tip over. A different coach after it's done

Did you decide on the Hellwig (front and back) because Roadmaster does not make a front sway bar or for another reason?
