ERA 70C LP Tank Size

Have been looking at downsizing to a ERA 70C (or maybe View 24G or 24V), really like the dry bath and storage of the ERA 70C. Looking at the specs for the 70C, most documentation show the LP tank size as 16 gal(brochures and window stickers) but was looking at the Winnebago brochure on line and it listed the tank size as 9.5 gal, thought it was a mistake so communicated with a couple of dealers who said "yes its 16 gal". So yesterday I stopped at a dealer in NC on the way back from a trip, the window sticker on their 70C said 16 gal but I crawled under to look at the tank tag and sure enough it is 9.5 gal. Emailed another dealer who talked to the factory who confirmed that the 70C's are built only with the 9.5 gal tank (probably to provide clearance for the slide mechanism). I think the smaller tank would be inconvenient to refill every couple of days on cross country trips or would be hard to boon dock for more than a few days. Anyone own the 70C and find the LP capacity adequate or lacking?

LP tanks are often measured in gallons, although LP is sold in pound units. A 40 pound tank holds about 9.5 gallons of LP.

Unless you have a LP generator, I'd think that the LP tank is adequate for quite a bit of hot water and cooking, with a few nights of furnace heat thrown in. If you want to stretch the interval between refills, you could use full hook up campgrounds and use electric heat and the microwave. Also, you could add the proper plumbing to add a portable tank to the on board tank if needed, but I'd be hesitant to extend time between fill ups for the hazards of a portable LP tank.

just learned a couple of interesting points on this. Yes it is smaller. But they compensated somewhat in three ways.
1. The fridge runs on 12 volts without propane when the motor is running. So you are only using propane for fridge when dry boondocking.
2. The on demand hot water system uses much less propane than the usual tank heater
3. The same is true for the hot water heat. No traditional furnace.

My biggest concern is how long it will run þe generator.
