This must be a typo ! Lived in CA for 51 years.. Had a dozen RV's and expensive vehicles... Speaking from experience, no way $20 !

I'm absolutely sure this is a typo.

Renewal
Interesting variations on licensing renewal around the country.
I've lived in Illinois and have licensed all my vehicles here all my life. Other than the fact that this state has, what I feel are, excessive initial sales tax rates (depending on the county of residence up to 11% of the sales price), the license fees really aren't too bad.
Plate renewal for my coach is $124.00 per year and no annual personal property or ad valorem tax.

Agree ! I don't even think it could be $200 ! More like moving the decimal over to $2000 !
We had a 1999 Monaco Windsor diesel pusher in CA (purchased new) and our tag was at least $2800 at the time - can't quite remember for sure (slept since then) but I remember it was a whopper !!
As if tags fees weren't enough, Governor Jerry Brown raised vehicle tag fees last year !

It is doable if you're a full timer and don't own property in WA, but that doesn't appear to be the case with the OP.

Cost me $315 in Montana (as a resident) to register/license my new 2016 Coachmen Prism 24G. It should drop to about $250 next year.

This information is just that (Information) and regardless if you complain, it's the law.
California which is so eager to take your money has a program called CRFR "Calif. Resident, Foreign Registration" It means that no matter if you have a post office box, LLC, a great aunt that lives in another state or what ever, if you have a residence in Calif. then you owe the state the higher registration fee. When you're caught, they assess you for back payments plus interest.
You may be thinking "I have a summer home in Oregon so they can't touch me."
Guess again. If you have ANY permanent ties to Calif. You're screwed.
