Here we go... (alternator fails)
So, you wanted a MH?, my friend laughed... well, here you go...
Two thousand five hundred and change miles on my 2017 Winni View on a 2016 MB Sprinter chassis and I get a gen failure red message on the instrument panel, along with an incessant bing, bing, bing chime.
Called MB road assistance and they were very friendly but sent the wrong tow truck (too small). Five hours later I finally arrived at a South Florida MB service center (withholding its name for now), where I felt they don't care for "trucks" only fancy AMG Mercedes super cars. After a while, they took my Sprinter and I was surprised how uninformed these guys (and gals) were about the Sprinter MB product and its use in the RV world.
They warned me they have a long list of Sprinters to service before they get to mine. They call me tomorrow with a diagnosis...
I got to say I like my View but I'm not impressed with my MB's experience so far.
Hope the MB warranty serves its purpose.

MB, by their own admission, have a long way to go to make Sprinter service as good as the rest of Mercedes service. Replacing an alternator should be fairly simple for them so give them a chance. Their diagnostic computers are good but their attitudes are bad because they didn't build the whole thing.

Ouch.... that should never happen on such a low mileage vehicle. I wonder if a wire came off or a fuse blew? Hopefully they get to it quickly.
Good luck and we are looking forward to the outcome.

You should attempt to find the nearest Sprinter service facility....
Start by looking for a "Thomas Built bus dealer". These guys would
know your chassis way better than any Mercedes dealer.
Just cause Mercedes made it does not mean that the car guys are
trained and qualified to work on the Sprinters.....
Just my humble opinion.

I'm very happy to report that the problem was just a bad battery, not the alternator or any other electric component. MB said the most probable cause for the battery going dead, was that the chassis was built in 2016, the house in 2017 by Winnebago and the dealer, La Mesa RV took delivery in March 2017 and sold it (to me) in July. The probably didn't maintain the batt. It makes sense as I recall that the salesperson showing me the unit for the first time could not crank the engine without the house batteries booster assist. Good thing the battery and labor were covered by the warranty.
Happy camper, back on the road again [emoji1303]
