NAPA has Mobil 1 ESP 0w 30 on sale

I just bought 14 qts of oil ($5.99/qt - $4 off), plus the filter, for $92. That's way cheaper than a dealer oil change.

I did the 1st oil change at ~5600 miles last Sept and now have 11.6k miles on the Prism 24G. I'll do the oil change again next month before heading south for the winter.

Does this meet Mercedes Spec? It will say on the label if it does.

Hi - when you do your own oil change, how do you tell the onboard computer to restart the service due countdown???

Using the same logic as changing the oil thousands of miles before it is recommended, it is probably a good idea to get new tires before heading south, especially if they are on sale to make it a good buy.

Here's the notes I made when I reset it last time. Note that mine is a 2016 Prism 24G model that does not have steering wheel buttons so it has the M and O button on the left of the cluster.

Ignition On but engine not running
Hold the O button until it beeps.
Push the M button until you see "reset 51"
Press/hold O until "2" appears
Press O again

That will reset the oil change interval to 20k.

Great idea as after nearly 12k miles, I am seeing some tire wear. Feel free to PayPal some money to help with the purchase.

Thanks for the reset procedure AudiDudi.

I did a search on Sprinter oil reset code and found lots of references and videos and thought this one was best https://www.mercedes-benz-vans.ca/fi...nder_Reset.pdf

I’ll PayPal you for the tires if you PayPal me for the new LiFePO4 setup I have my eye on to replace my one year old AGM setup.

I forget where I found the procedure but it did require a lot of digging. The one you posted sounds similar (and official)

Good luck with the new batteries - those puppies are spendy!! I'm still on the original factory batteries which thankfully seem to be OK still.

Thanks for the reset procedure, A.D!

Kinda got lost if you were teasing about tire wear...but here's something I just did.

After 25,000 miles was noticing a little uneven wear on the front tires. I had had them balanced soon after we got it, but never aligned. Took it in for an alignment (truck shop), took them hours(!) to get it aligned. They told me this was common in the cutaway chassis' used for campers. Upfitters never align the rigs after they put them back together. Hoping the $150 alignment will save me $$$ from early tire replacement.

Hope the procedure works for you. From what I can gather, it appears FR does do an alignment before it leaves the factory.

I have a vibration on mine betwen 42 and 45 mph. Had the front wheels balanced - no help.

Tried the alignment thing and had the factory send out the specific alignment sheet for my rig when it left the factory and the alignment shop was very close to the factory specs. My front tires are wearing a little more on the insides than the outsides at 11k miles but still look great.

I talked to a guy in Oregon a week ago with an identical rig but a 2015 vs my 2016 and his tire wear was much worse.

At 7500 miles my front tires are showing wear of the outside edges, kind of a jagged or feathered type of wear. I had an alignment done when I first noticed the wear at about 2500 miles but am still seeing the wear.

Thanks for the heads up on the NAPA oil sale. Stopped by the town's NAPA warehouse and picked up 13 quarts and a filter.
