I understand what the manual says regarding oil change intervals and approved fluids. I was only questioning whether a 10,000 or 20,000 mile interval is ok even if it takes 4 or 5 years to get to that mileage. From the comments and replies on this thread the consensus seems to be "yes", follow mileage interval, ignore time.

So, if I understand what I've read here, this oil, Mobil 1 5w30 ESP Synthetic Motor Oil, should be good.

Camper Ken, what part of Oregon are you from. I'm from Roseburg. Our first long trip will be to Roseburg next month. We are travelling from Panama City, FL.

Just got first oil change yesterday on 2015 forester mbs. It displayed the needs service alarm at 13458 miles, so I took it to Chandler AZ MB. There was also a software update for this unit regarding the CDI system. Was treated well, cost was 175$. I asked service manager if the update would get me better gas mileage, he said most people were getting 18-20 mpg. We get 11-14 depending on mountainous terrain and wind. He told me to remove the K&N air filter I had installed.

Do not let your deisel run out of gas. Do get it serviced at a Mercedes dealer.

Interesting comments. Also first time diesel owner, Winnebago ERA purchased new. Wondering when the first oil change should be done?

I installed helping sway bar. This thing nosedives and hits bumps hard. Will differ t shocks improve. We roll almost like being on the water. Getting 14 plus mpg if kept at 65-70 mph
