TPMS & TIRE valve extenders

I have a 2013 Itasca Reyo, 25t, which is on the sprinter Mercedes chassis. I would like to add valve extenders and possibly a TPMS so I can easly check the air pressure. I know nothing about this, except reading some of the horror stories regarding blow outs.

Currently, there is metal valve extensions, or extenders (no sure which),on the back inside tires. My concern is that there is not any type of stabilizer on them and that basically when you touch them they move quite easily. I have driven from Colorado to AZ to WY with them like this with no problem, but everything I read says they should be stable, or attached to the wheel somehow.

I would like to replace them with either Borg or The Tire Man's extenders. Has anyone had any experience with either of these and if so would you please share. Also any other information regarding tire extenders and TMPS that you could share with me would be helpful.

Thanks,

Sue

I have found that the more you pay for extenders, the better they are. Yep, for once its true. DO NOT buy the plastic ones!

I have not noticed any imbalance in the tires with extensions and sensors on. No problem at all.

Just make sure they are screwed on snug.

I had the Tireman valve stems on my View for 4 years before I recently traded it in...one of the best investments I made. These are not extenders...these are replacement valve stems. The tires will need to be dismounted by a tire shop. See my short video....think you will be sold...

Thanks for the input. Wish I lived closer to the Tire Man! Do you use a TMPS with these?

My inside duals have 4" solid metal extensions with rubber stabilizer donuts where they come through the outer wheel. Both Alcoa and Accuride make them for their large aluminum wheels ...don't know what might be available for smaller wheels. The stabilizers keep them from moving ...and of course the valve stems they are mounted on are metal also. Are yours perhaps mounted on rubber stems? ...solid extensions should not be moving much

They probably are mounted on rubber stems, which also gives me cause for concern.

No I did not have a TPMS installed but would be no problem. You can order the valves from Chuck AKA The Tireman...and have a local tire shop install them.

Just a quick follow up. I spoke with Chuck, aka The Tireman, and unfortunately he doesn't carry valve stems for my Itasca Reyo. The wheels are Alcoa, steel inside and aluminum outer wheels. He referred me to Your tire Supplies formally, Borg. They had what I needed, so I ordered a set.

I have read good reviews on these valve stems on the Reyo/Via Yahoo forum. Now I just have to have them properly installed.
