2014 Palazzo 33.2 large slide topper unrolled in wind

How do we rewind the slide topper in on our large slide when it has unwound in extreme wind? We do not dare to retract the slide with the topper being so unwound.

Is your slide in or out? I guess by your statement it must be out and your topper unfurl farther-- if so you will need to go on top of coach or use a ladder and pull the topper out till it is streight --then let it go back in till it gets back where it should be. Then retract your slide out while watching it

if your slide was 'all the way out', how much additional topper would be left to unfurl?

I've never really thought about this until now, since there is the 'fingers' to stop unfurling while the slide is in, and while driving, but nothing to prevent it when the slide is out, at least beyond where the fingers would stop it.

I would hope that there is not much more topper fabric to unfurl, but never-the-less, it is a not-so-fun scenario, I'm sure!

I would also think that the TENSION on the roller would bring it in automatically?

[[in previous high winds, where our topper would make 'flapping' noises, I would stuff some type of foam or towels at each end to minimize this]]

I agree that, in any case, this is not a fun situation...

Let us know what you do to solve this : )

We had this in Casa Grande on our maiden voyage. We got lucky that the wind died down enough, and we caught a gust that got the slack out. It did put a slight bow in the tube it rolls on. I got this pretty straightened out by putting slide out at home and having my wife stop me when the bow was directly at 12 so I could pull down and take some of the bow out.

I solved the "flapping on our full wall slide topper by running a light weight rope over the top of it and securing it underneath the slide with a bungee to give it some tension all the time. No more windy day problems. hope this helps, mark
