2014 Thor Palazzo 36.1 Loud hissing noise when accelerating
We have owned our 2014 Palazzo 36.1 now for 2 years and we love it. We have noticed recently that we hear a very loud hissing noise when we accelerate when driving. We had it serviced at the end of the fall this past year and wondered if maybe they removed a liner when they accessed the Engine for the service. I still have to pull the cover and look, but wanted to ask if anyone else who has the Palazzo has experienced this? No changes in performance just the loud noise when accelerating. Any feed back appreciated.

Are you losing any power at all when you accelerate? If so I would be inclined to think it is a turbo issue like others have suggested. If not, then what you might actually be hearing is the cooling fan kicking in and making that noise you are talking about. The cooling fan is very loud and at times it can sound like a hissing noise. What would be cool is if you can duplicate the problem, place a go pro camera on the back ladder and record it. It is also totally plausible this could be something totally unrelated to the engine and more related to the air system. The air system also makes a very very distinctive hissing sound when it is purging moisture from the system.
