Air Conditioners while on Generator Power
Our 2013 Palazzo has the RV QD6000 with one 30 Amp Circuit Breaker. I THOUGHT I remember running both ACs with the generator when it was new, but now I am not sure.
Currently the Generator CB trips with one AC and the microwave.
Does this sound normal for the 30A breaker?

You should be able to run both AC's with no problem, I think you have a problem, bad breaker or pulling to many amps. I run both AC's with a 5500 Gen.

One 30 AMP breaker will not support 2 A/C units if they are both 15,000BTU units.

Typically on 30 amp you can run one AC and a few low draw items like TV and lights. If your getting a full 120 at the post you might be lucky enough to run two ACs but not much more. If your only getting 110 at the post, probably not.

30 amps is 3600 watts, so you may have a second breaker. It may also be a dual breaker. 1 lever for two breakers.
The second breaker should be tied to the second AC. Does that work ?
Try hosing out the AC coils on the roof. When dirty they cause the ACs to draw over 15 amps. I watched mine climb to 19 amps before I washed it out.

it is NOT a single 30amp breaker, it is a double-pole 30amp breaker, rendering a total of 60amps available through the generator - hence the 6kw sizing for the Palazzo.
if you are experiencing nuisance tripping of the generator breaker, it would seem to me that you have more going in the coach than just the AC and the microwave, etc.
- your CHARGER may be in bulk mode, using a lot of amps - turn the SHORE MAX Magnum panel setting down to 5a, while you are parked and don't need to charge the batteries so much
- your WATER HEATER Electric switch may be on, and the water heater uses a lot of amps when it is required to heat, or keep the water hot. Switching it off can save some amps
- in hot weather, even the outside temperature has something to do with tripping breakers, since the breakers 'sense' heat in the wiring, and are designed to trip when the wires become too 'hot'. When the wiring is already warm due to the outside temperatures, then it's even easier to trip a breaker, even when before it seemed to work fine.
- running two AC units is not an issue with your generator, but any over usage of AMPS can create tripping situation, even when on SHORE POWER.
When you reset the generator breaker, you are actually resetting TWO 30amp breakers, in tandem, just like the 50a double pole breaker on most power poles. The other 30amp breaker is hidden under the generator cover. I suppose they don't have it exposed since it's not needed, it will ALWAYS trip when the other does anyway.

Thank you all VERY MUCH.
You have given me a lot of valuable info that I can now use to troubleshoot. I will start with cleaning each roof unit and then do some more data collection.
Thanks!

I agree with this, this is exactly what I experience i.e. I can run both AC units on the generator MOST of the time. But if it is really hot and the AC compressors are occasionally cycling on and off, the wiring/breaker gets hot and the compressor start up spikes put it over the edge. I typically run only the living room AC unit and close the sliding door to the bedroom during the day. This way you can run the battery charger and even the microwave and not trip the breaker.
