It was replaced under warranty.
I'm uncertain what product was used by I found the following numbers on the new one (I think)
114-1211-010-03 12V/CONT
0804
I don't know what these numbers mean
The Camping World store said that they don't normally keep these in stock but happened to have one because another motorhome needed to be repaired .

I've had to replace the solenoid also less then 6 months old. We had to keep charging the motor batteries because they would drop to 60% charge over 3 days. It was hot to the touch before it was replaced and the new one is also very hot to the touch but it's working. I think it is under sized for the job, and the heat that it generates causes it to fail.

My replacement part number is 114-1211-010 / 12V /CONT made in USA 12/16/13. I took a Picture, tried but not smart enough to attach. You can touch it for only 2 to 3 seconds before it start to burn your finger.

I did a quick search and discovered the other coaches have the same problem with the solenoid failing P/N 114-1211-010-03 12V/CONT
There was some discussion about replacing this P/N with Trombetta 114-1211-020-02
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/batt...noid-4068.html
After reading all these threads I think I will order a spare solenoid

At Elkhart my BIRD and Solenoid were replaced with original equipment which is part number noted above. However my tech recommended that I at some time in future obtain a better solenoid which is an Intellitech Big Boy Battery Isolator Relay. Part number 77-90006-120. I have not yet made this purchase. Price I saw quoted was about $150.

Per this thread; http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/batt...noid-4068.html
"My old solenoid recently went out (I think it was a Trombetta Fatboy) and the tech replaced it with an Intellitec Big Boy Battery Isolator Relay #77-90006-120. The first one lasted a week or two, and the second one has lasted just about as long."

Funny that some are failing and some are not. It's possible because some may have the coach plugged in most of the time and others do not..... I think it may be a good idea to carry a spare since it is small enough.

Good observation on useage, I know from post Jack utilizes his quite frequently. I only have 5000 miles in the year I have owned it. So I guess the Trombetta Bear would be a good spare?

Last three legs of the trip problem has not repeated itself.
Knock on wood.
We'll see.
