Dinette Replacement

Hi All,

Has anyone replaced their dinettes ? Mine are in dire need of re-upholstery but it would be easier at just buy replacements.
Has anyone found any that will fit? My Palazzo is a 33.2 but the dinette looks like it fits most models.....

Help appreciated

You can buy dinettes online, some work very well while others seem a little flimsy- read the reviews. I have replaced and modified a couple dinettes the main thing is you will have to measure to make sure the new one fits and then make sure your not running bolts/screws into areas in the floor and walls you don't want them. If any questions on this call your manufacturer and let them advise on this. It may be easier to have an upholstery shop to make new cushions and reupholster the other areas. Or you can usually order factory replacements from your RV manufacturer at probably a higher cost.

We have been full timing for over 3 years in our 2014 33.2 and the upholstery started showing wear a year and a half ago. By this winter it was so bad we started looking at alternatives.

Last month we replaced the dinette and both captains chairs with Flexsteel models with Ultraleather upholstery purchased from and installed by Bradd and Hall in Elkhart, Indiana. Our previous class C had Ultraleather and while expensive, it is the best thing on the market.

The standard FlexSteel dinette has slide out drawers which is a big improvement... you lose some space but the drawers are more functional. Space wise it fits, but the convert to bed is not functional with the drop down dinette table Thor installed. Since we never use the dinette as a bed this didn't matter to us, and if our needs change the table could be changed. The Flexsteel dinette does not have the curved end of the standard dinette so it doesn't protrude into the floor area. It was necessary to remove the inside arm to clear the table.

The new captains chairs are fantastic. While I became uncomfortable after an hour of driving in the old chairs (sciatica), the new chairs are comfortable for hours of driving. The optional lumbar support provides the exact support I need for extended hours of driving.

Bradd and Hall in Elhkart Indiana offers a wide selection of high quality RV furniture items and Stephanie Casey is absolutely the best sales consultant to work with. Flexsteel has a several week lead time and you really need to "try on" a chair to decide if it is right for you. We had an appointment at Thor Service in Wakarusa to address short roller plates on the big slide and a few minor issues. We visited Bradd and Hall the first day we were at Wakarusa (its about a 15 minute drive from Thor service) and were able to shorten our wait for new furniture to only two weeks by choosing a fabric color they had in stock for the dinette and could be moved up in the production schedule for the chairs. We went to Pennsylvania while waiting for the furniture to be built, then returned to Elkhart for the installation.
