Question Drop down bunk

How do you like the drop down bunk over the cockpit ? Is it or does it rattle, etc during travel?
Can two adults sleep comfortably?
Have not seen a lot of comments on it,.
Thanks for the replies. Palazzo on the short list.

Having an 8 year old daughter and previously owning a class c, we would not have purchased the palazzo if it didn't have the bunk. That was a must have requirement for our daughter as she loved the forward bunk in the c. It has worked perfectly. We put a 3 inch queen size memory foam mattress along with a comforter up there and are able to leave it there when raised. One tip I got to prevent any rattles is after raising and inserting safety pins, drop it just enough to take up any movement in the pins.

I put memory foam up there... no rattles. The kids love the drop down, its great space for them. Its one of the main reason we bought the Palazzo, with the double bunks there is no prep for sleeping and have access to the dinette. Though it does make the surrounding space "feel" smaller when the drop bunk is down. As for two adults up there... well it is a queen size, but I dont like sleeping up there.

What are the actual dimensions of the drop-down? Don't have access to our coach right now, but SWMBO saw a sale of gel foam toppers. Is the queen a standard 60"x80"? If so she'll run out and get one. An air mattress is a PITA to deal with.

yes, a queen foam will fit... when I get home, I can take a quick measure.

The queen would be to wide by a few inch. What you need is the Full xl that is 54x80. if you want a snug fit I would custom order at 56x80. Good luck

yes, it is a little long but it is foam... you can stretch or shrink it to size.

My kid are adults, and did not like the air mattress. I replaced with a 3" mattress from IKEA ,a full size fits fine and they like it more than the air one. Kinda tight to close, but my wife runs the controls while I put the pins in place.

We have had issues with the bunk. For us, it rattles, squeaks and makes rubbing sounds while traveling. We have had a couple of repairs and have to take it in again. The unit slips down and it is next to impossible to get the pins in. We have to reprogram the stops each time the pins come out because it won't run up high enough to insert the drivers side pins. We use it as a shelf to store 'things' (hats) while we are at the range for competitions. Other than that it is locked in the up and travel position. Our last trip we never lowered it because of the trouble we had getting the pins in place.

I printed a copy of the instructions for the controller and reprogrammed myself. Kind of a pain, but I am a couple hours away from the dealer. I think it would be good to understand how to do it anyway.
