Headwaters Lodge

Hi all,

Has anyone taken their Palazzo into Headwaters Lodge at the South entrance of Yellowstone? What was your experience? We're getting ready to book the reservations for Yellowstone and curious what your opinions are.

Thanks,

mgw44

I'm also interested in what folks have to say. I'm hesitant entering National Parks without checking for low clearances. Yosemite NP has a tunnel that is only 10 feet, 5 inches.

We have spent a lot of time in Yellowstone, Family lives near jackson so we park in their driveway and drive the car to yellow stone. However I did drive the Palazzo thru Yellow stone on the way home. Entering on the west side (used one of their dump stations)...exit on east side. Had no problems at all with clearances, Parking at some of the more popular sites can be a bit challenging. As far as headwater, I don't know for sure but You should be ok, as I recall I drove thru colter bay to check out the rv park ( just south of headwater) and nothing stuck out as to be a problem. I would suggest the rvparky app, I use it religiously to read comments about parks !!!! as far as level sites, big rig access, cleanliness etc. also check out west yellowstone ( the town) there are several rv parks and restaurants grocery stores....good place to base camp and attack the park with the car on day trips. If you would like specific parks or info I would be happy to share......

We stayed at Headwaters and no problems for us. I think we had the only spot that we could get satellite. They have full hook-up. After Headwaters we went to Yellowstone and stayed at Fishing Bridge again no problems and full hookups.
We have a 33.2 so length was not an issue.

Enjoy your stay - we certainly enjoyed ours.

One more thing - Don't get discouraged if you can't get reservations keep checking as people cancel all the time. Just be diligent and keep checking and be ready to jump on it when something becomes available. You can always cancel.
