Heater died .... 20 degrees outside

2014 36.1

Heater just died, no response from either thermostat. Checked all breakers, all fuses, and the reset switch in the heater panel outside.

Everything else inside works fine.

Any ideas?

Furnace?

Runs on 12V DC power
Power comes from a FUSED circuit........goes directly to furnace (on/off---resettable CB at furnace)....same DC power goes to/thru t-stat (blue wires)

SO find the blown feeder fuse. Then question is WHY it blew.....bad fan motor, shorted wire, bad t-stat????

I already reset that breaker on the furnace, no luck.

Anything else I should try?

Do you have a Volt Ohm Meter (VOM) handy and can you use it?

Check inside the furnace enclosure for any sort of reset button. Could be high limit was hit, blower motor tripped, etc....

I have zero power to the thermostats. I couldn't run the A/C if I wanted to.

Plenty of propane.

No it's at home. But since it's 20 degrees out I won't be staying long. Going to have to fire up the engine and heater. Won't be able to stay at the campground like that so I'll need to head to a Walmart. I'm sure I can buy one there.

Do you have interior 12 v lights? Almost sounds like you either inadvertently hit the salesman's switch by the door or the relay the salesman"s switch controls failed. If the generator won't start it sounds like your house batteries are dead or disconnected.

Look for the access panel to get to back of the 12 volt fuses inside coach. Remove and check that all the wires are connected and make sure none have vibrated off terminal. This happened to me when slides wouldn't work. I found a couple loose and pushed them on for a more secure fit. You could use a pair of needle nose pliers to re-crimp terminal to tighten it onto connection.

Also, consider a small ceramic heater for both the inside of coach. And a small one with a plug into thermostat for water and holding tank bay.

Good Luck
Don

Already tried the switch but thanks for the suggestion.
