Help with Palazzo Motorhome

I'd like to install a Fomoto oil drain valve. Any idea which one to order?

Hawg187, I am assuming you have a FCCC XCS chassis with a Cummins ISB?

According to the Fumoto chart, there are two applications for the ISB. One says "most" and the other says "rare" ...GO HERE for the application chart for heavy trucks.

Because of that, what i would recommend is to call or email FCCC in Gaffney and give them your chassis VIN where they can supply you the exact thread specs on the drain plug. Then call Fumoto and have them give you the correct product application.

FCCC is very customer oriented and I am going to guess that they'd be more than happy to help you out with the specs on that drain plug.

Don't do it. I know. I did and regret it.

The Palazzo sits pretty low to the ground. The engine oil pan also sits pretty low. I installed a Fumoto valve on my '15 33.3 as I've used them numerous times on my diesel Ford Excursion.

I don't know for sure when it happened, but I did strike the Fumoto valve on the pavement. My guess is it happened on a rural highway in Arizona. I decided to pull off of a 2 lane road onto gravel to the right of the shoulder. There was a drop off on the edge of the asphalt to a more level gravel pull out area. I never heard a thing.

Luckily, the valve survived being scraped along the pavement. The oil pan, however, was pushed up about 3/4" from 'flat'. The valve did not fail or leak in any way. I'm still using it even though it looks pretty rough. I'm afraid to take it out and replace with original drain plug as the drain plug is bigger in diameter and may not seal up on the somewhat concave surface around the Fumoto.

I do not know if the original drain plug would have touched in this particular scenario.

I agree, the oil pan is very low for Fumoto valve. I ordered but did not install yet the drain valve from No Spill Systems p/n 15-18150-04. It is very low profile, similar to standard drain plug. You need 18x1.5 thread, I made a mistake and followed the site selection for 6.7 Cummins other (not Dodge) and got wrong 22x1.5mm plug. It only fits side drain hole on the driver side, but the main drain is 18mm.
