Humming noise near breaker box foot of bed Palazzo 36.1
Hello,
I have a humming noise coming from under the foot of the bed in our Palazzo 36.1 while on shore power. It is right where the breaker and fuse boxes are.
I tried every breaker, the noise was still present. I shut off the shore power and the noise stopped. When I turned shore power back on, the noise returned.
It is NOT the fan in the outside electronics compartment, I know how to shut that one off with the thermostat. This is something else.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Humming noise
Probably ATS (auto transfer switch). Ac relays hum due to 60 hz. I switched to a ats with dc relays and no hum. Not near my mh for a few months so don’t remember maker of new ats.
Good luck

Thanks.
I should add.... this noise has not been present before. We have owned the motorhome for 2+ years now and this is the first I have heard the noise.

Humming
It does take awhile for the hum to start. A little dust or other contaminate will start the hum. As time goes on it will get louder. Furrion told me it causes no danger.

I'm guessing it's your (integrated) inverter/converter/charger doing it's job.

Concur, the transfer switch. Had the same noise. Traced it to the switch. Slapped the switch. It stopped. Nothing likes to be hit. Next CG it started with the humming again & I was getting tired of the tune. This went on for a number of months getting worse. A good slap did it no good. Paid me no mind. Ordered a new one. Better than the cheap & nasty OEM. Switched it out myself. Easy to do other than wrestling with stiff solid core wires.
No more humming.

A more expensive DC coil transfer switch will solve your issue. The buzz may eventually progress to brown outs or total black. Hitting clears the contacts sometimes. Sometimes you also get voltage drop and heat from this buzz.

agree that it is you ATS and a good slap can stop the hum for a while however I would suggest that you remove all power (shore and Gen) and then check for any loose connections. Tighten all the lugs as tight as you can the go back and tighten again. The ATS supplied with the Palazzo early on had some reports of heat and even fire damage. Ask me how I know. And yes the first symptom was buzzing.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Does anyone have pictures of what or where I need to start hitting and replacing?
I’m guessing I need to pull the breaker box out and look behind there?

Ok thanks. Did you replace the ATS with the same unit or is there something better?

I replaced with the same ATS but I am sure there is something better but I don't know what it is or whether it is worth it. I didn't have any more trouble after replacing and tightening the lugs securely.

We have the same issue on our 2014 Southwind.
I quickly traced to hum to the Surge Guard Transfer Switch located on the floor, under a drawer in the rear bedroom.
I have asked the same question on this forum as well as contacting the manufacturer and the response is always the same, 60Hz will create a buzz or hum, dirt gets on the relay fins etc.
Some days, in some parks the hum is better than others but @ $800.00 for a replacement, we have learned to accept the hum!
I have tried sound insulating materials but that did not work.
At one point, Fleetwood installed the box under the bed, then under a cabinet, and now, install the box in an outside storage bin.
If I do get to the point of a replacement it will not be with the same manufacturer.
