Lippert Hydraulic JACK Fitting loose

Found a fitting loose on the orange hose on my passenger side front jack but it isn't leaking yet. The question is what is correct procedure to bleed off the pressure safely so I can unscrew the flare fitting and tighten the elbow and of course reinstall. By the way, two of the three hoses were rubbing against the angle iron frame. Recommend checking all your airlines and hydraulic hoses.

Just had to replace a hose on the road for the same issue rubbing on frame. I added pipe insulation where the hoses go over the frame for extra protection

Any trick to getting the pressure off the hose?

Nope. When I rebuilt my pump. Loosened with no problem.

I took a small plastic bag with ziptie fo keep from leaking once removed.

If they are spring return, single action pistons, with only one line, there will be no pressure on the line, as long as the piston is totally collapsed. ( UP )

If there are double acting, ( 2 lines ) stack some blocks under the jack, to keep it from creeping down, and just loosen the line in question. Unless they are supporting a load, there is little to no pressure on them. Keep a rag handy.

The Lippert system works in pairs, and each set of Jack's ties into a common return line While each jack has two lines, the fronts are tied to a common return and the rears are, so each jack has one line coming directly from the pump, while the second line attaches to the common return. Four lines to the distribution block and solenoids and two common lines tee into the back of the d-block. That's how mine is set up. Agree with Twinboat.
