Got on Trimark's website. My lock set is an 060-0650 which is no longer recommended. Their new redesigned lock set is 060-1650. Wonder why the redesign? (Sarcasm)

Searched the web and found that Welcome to RV & Auto Parts - Parts & Accessories had the best price. Two day shipping for just under $70 total. The interior plate had some scratches/gouge. Customer service was very responsive and I got the replacement in two days. Good people to deal with and I highly recommend them.

The new lock set was a very tight fit for the cutout. Tried operating before final installation and found that the deadbolt wouldn't work. It seems that this redesign allows for electric locking via a solenoid. As such, there are three tabs on a circular plate with the deadbolt rod attached to the bottom tab. The other two tabs would hit the metal framework surrounding the opening. Some judicious pruning with a cutoff blade removing the offending tabs allowed it to work.

On the old design, the interior lever for the deadbolt moved up to lock while the latch lock moved down...oops! Too easy to jar it with your finger or gravity. The new design has the locking levers situated so they move right and left. It is still possible to lock the door before closing it. Keys in your pocket when exiting.

The new design is stiff to operate. Hopefully I can get it to work easier.

Red ridge,
Thanks for the thread. I just looked at mine and the steps that you modified didn't appear to be a problem. The mechanism was very stiff so I lubed it using the CRC lube for the slides. I can now shut the door without having to hold the handle in the open position. Hopefully this will last.

As a footnote, a friend has gone through three locks so far. The lock slide bolt breaks at the rear where the two outer shafts join the rear of the bolt.
